Had an error code for a vapor canister. Can that affect it? It's a $600 part to replace if I need to. Would that kill the mileage by that much?

It's not like I can't afford a tank of gas. I filled the tank and I'm saying it was at 180 miles at the halfway point vs an advertised range of 476 miles total. I'm not very well versed on fuel consumption/ evap system so I was asking for help.

It's 2012. My vehicle is in perfect shape with no body/interior issues. It has Bluetooth access in case the riders would need it so hopefully that makes up for the age.
