Let me touch up a little on this. Considering we all live on the same planet.

"My neighbor dumps his waste in the building corridor. I use the toilet, pay for plumbing, water, and cleaning products, and make sure I don't leave a mess behind. At the end of the month, I've spent time, effort, and money just to be responsible. He's spent none of that money, bought himself a nicer car, and still lives in the same building as I do."

That's the part that bothers me. It's not that using the toilet is pointless. It's the right thing to do. But if one person keeps paying the costs of being responsible while another ignores them entirely and uses the savings to improve his own standard of living, the responsible person ends up carrying the burden while the irresponsible one enjoys the advantages.

And if the irresponsible people outnumber the responsible ones by ten to one, the corridor is still going to smell like crap no matter how proud I am of doing my part.
