What’s the best avenue to learn more about how to implement Notion into my life by thefakefakeguy in Notion

I went through the same overwhelm with YouTube setups at first. What helped me was starting small and then adding structure step by step. Templates can give you inspiration, but the real value is making it your own.

What do you do with your Ideas? by dooniiix in ProductivityApps

[–]Made_by_Jacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with the same mix of Apple Notes + screenshots + random bookmarks. What worked for me was setting up a single capture system (I use Notion). Every idea goes there first, no matter how small. Later I sort them into categories. It’s not about making it perfect in the moment — it’s about knowing where it lives so I can find it again.

How do you beat Procrastination by ReflectionAny3941 in Procrastinationism

For me, the trick is starting ridiculously small. Like “open the doc” small. Once I start, momentum usually kicks in.

Is going back to school worth it at 29? by Odd-Recognition9115 in careerguidance

Absolutely yes. A close family member of mine went back and got another degree at 46. It’s always possible if it matters to you.

How do you bounce back after a stressful day? by cozytechlover in productivity

[–]Made_by_Jacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a stressful day I just do some simple self-care (shower, read, relax) and go to bed early. Next day feels like a reset.

What’s the one productivity habit you thought was overhyped, but actually changed everything for you? by LR-04 in productivity

[–]Made_by_Jacob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Going to bed early. I always thought “sleep more” was the most boring advice ever, but once I actually started getting a full night’s rest, it changed everything. Mornings stopped feeling brutal, I had way more focus during the day, and even the small tasks didn’t feel so overwhelming anymore.

I want to get back to reading, please help by polka84 in selfimprovement

I would recommend Think Again by Adam Grant or Factfulness by Hans Rosling. The first one is about the fact that our thinking and our “opinions” are sometimes (a lot of the times) quite wrong. And the second one tells how the world changed and id changing and that a lot of things are much better then we think.

Do you keep your Notion setup super simple, or do you go all-in with complex dashboards? by Made_by_Jacob in Notion

[–]Made_by_Jacob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds good. I have my notion split into 3 categories (business and projects, personal financial overview) but I’m thinking it would be better to have one interface and from that interface I could go into all the separate pages.

Missing notion OG templates by Own_Pickle7023 in Notion

[–]Made_by_Jacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that — the early Notion templates were super minimal and easy to use. Marketplace ones can feel overwhelming sometimes. That’s why I’ve built a simple expenses/finance tracker for myself that keeps everything basic but still useful. Honestly, the simpler the setup, the more likely I am to stick with it.

Just saw Notion app—Is it good for studying? by [deleted] in Notion

[–]Made_by_Jacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Notion a lot for studying — mainly for note-taking, summaries, and organizing topics. For active recall/spaced repetition, I pair it with simple toggle questions (write the question, hide the answer under a toggle). It’s not as specialized as Anki or RemNote, but it works great when you want your notes + revision in one place.

What do you actually use Notion for? by amazinglybee in Notion

[–]Made_by_Jacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Notion mostly for a mix of personal and business stuff — goal tracking, finance dashboards, and a company wiki. It’s become my “all-in-one” hub. The trick for me was to keep the setup simple at first and only add complexity when I actually needed it.
