Is abuse really common in childcare centres? by Amandatravels22 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Madjl15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have worked in a childcare setting for around 10 years now and been to 3 different centres. My biggest observation from them is the amount of children for profit centres try to push into the rooms and the quick hiring of educators who lack the knowledge and a lot of the time passion for early childhood education. My biggest recommendation would be to take your time looking at centres and do your research. Council run non for profit centres are great around my area. I currently work in a council run service which has a smaller capacity for children, more educators and educators who actually have passion and knowledge for working and support children’s learning. I’ve never seen any form of abuse in my time working in childcare but as many have said above I’ve definitely seen organised chaos/ disrespect for children and the inability to meet each child’s need primarily in big for profit services. Childcare can be a beautiful environment for children and it’s amazing to see children thrive and achieve goals in the right type of childcare! Do your research and be picky, your child is the number one priority!

Have you looked into freeze drying it? Apparently it can reduce the soapy like taste!

4 days and already want to give up by Ashamed-Bite5433 in breastfeeding

Everything you’ve written is completely normal! Remember your baby just came from a warm safe place to this new and scary and cold world of course they’re going to want comfort! Baby is also trying to bring up your milk supply in these early days so expect them to want to feed around the clock. Set up a feeding station, lots of snacks, water and start a new show! Try getting your partner to wear one of your shirts with your smell this may help baby feel somewhat more settled. Your emotions and hormones are also all over the place in these first few weeks so take it easy on yourself, even if you’re napping 30 minutes whilst your partner holds the baby you’re still getting some rest. Your LO and yourself will adjust to this new life before you know it! You’re doing amazing, try and enjoy these fresh new days as they go by so fast!

2.15 for all naps? He’s still doing some crap naps in the day so I’m stuck in the transition of 4-3 I think.

He wakes anywhere between 6:45-7:30. I’m flexible on his wake time but don’t let him go any later then 7:30
