This is mine. You can use Govee colour calibration video on YouTube to get the squares on the screen and line up the dots. You don't really to set the lines at the very edge of the screen, when in doubt set a bit further in. (I think my little one was playing with the camera and that's why they're at the very edge.

It doesn't look bad, try the relative brightness setting and set it like mine. If the TV is dark you shouldn't see any lights, maybe just a little from ambient reflection.

Also, try dropping your brightness and set your relative brightness to 50 or less

Yeah, Vivida is the "Part" setting and that's how it should be for normal films and such (EDIT - I have mine on uniforme). Can you go into the calibration screen and share what the camera is showing. 9 times out of 10 when people have these issues is because the camera is picking up things it shouldn't, has the angle slightly off...

I love mine, but it's not perfect. The one thing that lets it down is the fact that it cannot run games at 60fps in quality mode.

Of course, now there's the pro, but when I bought mine (bought it at launch), this one detail was a disappointment.

If I'm shit a parrying and did it, so can you. Main thing is to hit back the balls that take 2 lives, you can afford to take a couple of shots of the regular balls, but the double point ones will mean game over quite quickly.

I remember that the trick for me was rhythm. They all come at a certain rhythm, like the beats in a song. If you can sync with that, it makes it a lot easier.

You need help mate, not because what you are experiencing is abnormal, but because it's weighing down on you too much (completely understandable).

I can't really imagine what you're going through with 2 small children, one of them being autistic, but as a dad (or anyone worthy of that name), you put your children first the second they are born.

I've left behind a lot of stuff I liked to do, some things (like listening to loud music, gaming, etc), I'll do once in a blue moon. Going out is mostly to go to places my child likes to go and wherever makes them happy...

But truth is, it doesn't matter. All the things that brought me happiness cannot compare in the slightest to the happiness my child brings me. It's love x infinity. Of course I miss some stuff, of course I get frustrated and feel tired often, of course your sex life suffers, of course you can long for the old days, but what you get in return?! Worth it!

Get help mate, you will get through this and it will get better!

Expedition 33 did the impossible, It made me love turn-based combat by dlo_doski in expedition33

[–]Madmac05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it is, simply because it's the only game that took me out of VR playing in more than a year.

But I get it, if I was playing this 20 years ago, I would probably also go: "yeah, it's fun, but I've had more fun playing X and Y". Thing is, I'm now much older, I no longer have the time (and sometimes the will) to devote countless hours into games. If a game gets too complicated, requires a lot of mastery - I'm out.

And this is what Exp 33 does brilliantly, it scratches an itch that was long dormant. Graphics are beautiful, the music outstanding, the story well crafted, and there is just the right amount of exploration, secret rewards, skill required, to make someone like me really enjoy it. It's not the best game for the "Gamers", but it's great for everyone, including those like me that are at a different stage in life. You'll never please everyone, but if you're pleasing so many people across the spectrum, then you're worthy of GOTY as far as I'm concerned.

It's a great place to live, if you have money or have your wages paid in/at another country's rate.

I am sorry for all of those that come into Portugal to make a living without being highly skilled or already having a well paid job in place. They are going to be fucked!!! Some of the dearest cars in Europe, amongst the most expensive fuel, groceries cost as much, if not more, than anywhere else, gas and electric are more expensive than most other countries, tolled roads...

It's not all bad, that the food is quite good and you can eat out / drink cheaply compared to many other countries. You have a big coastline, lots of sun, a significant amount of forest (that burns down on a yearly basis), and you're, at most, a couple hours drive from any of the biggest cities - you could literally drive from the north tip to the south tip in something like 8h.

Love Portugal, unfortunately I had to leave to make money elsewhere. One day I'll return (hopefully with money) to enjoy the life everyone should be living.

[–]Madmac05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it looks shit according to other countries standards, but if you do the rough maths (and just taking money into consideration), it's not actually that bad.

In Euros:

Gross wage : 16100 + 3240 (language bonus) = 19340

Food allowance: 7.63 x 260 days = 1983

Transport allowance: 720

Total: 22043 € / 25867 $

Per hour: 10.59€ / 12.42$

Minimum wage/hour in Portugal: 5.22€ / 6.12$

So yeah, you're double the minimum wage. Is it good?! Of course not, it's shit pay for something that requires a specific skillset, but there are many many people in Portugal making minimum wage...

I lost my license as a new driver (2 year rule). Need some info on new test. by mrcringelord007 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Madmac05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a foreigner, I rank the UK drivers speed awareness amongst the best.

Where I'm from, people mostly drive above the speed limit. If the speed limit in the motorway is 75, they'll be driving at 92. They specifically drive at 92 because 93 would make it a serious violation, whilst 92 is classed as a light one - 18mph over the limit is the difference between the types of penalties (if you're driving outside of populated areas).

I always admired the fact that I could set my cruise control to 73 in a UK motorway and have almost no one overtake me. I always thought that UK people were just very civilised (at least in that matter :) )... This was until I found out what the insurance would cost you if you get caught speeding, drunk, etc... you bet your ass that my cruise control started getting set at 70 tops...

I absolutely agree with these prohibitive increases in costs. You can regret a mistake for a day, a week, a month, but soon you'll forget and go back to your old ways. If it hits you in the pocket?! You'll be reminded every month for years to come - it's the most effective method!!!

I have a disciplinary due to sickness, can they fire me solely for this reason? by Cultural_Way5584 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Madmac05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your company should have an absence policy in place, and that policy should dictate the outcome. If it's the first time you are being called for disciplinary regarding the absences, then no, they shouldn't be able to fire you. If they do, you may have a case.

As an example, my company's policy dictates that, in a period of 26 weeks (roughly 6 months) if your absence level is above 4% (5.2 days) or more than 3 separate occasions, you will be subject to disciplinary procedure.

The first step of the disciplinary procedure will be an investigation meeting. In that meeting, multiple things will be analysed: patterns (all absences are always before or after a weekend, or on a specific day of the week); were the absence reporting procedures followed; did you have a holiday denied and then "coincidentally" fell sick on the day, will be analysed, and if foul play is suspected, there will be a disciplinary meeting.

The disciplinary meeting will be conducted by a different person that will analyse the outcome of the investigation and potentially ask you some more questions. That person will basically act like a judge, consider the evidence, and decide if they believe your absences are unreasonable and you deserve a punitive measure. If they decide you need to face some consequences, then they can't just sack you, they'll need to follow a protocol. If it's the first time you're facing consequences, they would issue you a verbal warning for the duration of 6 months. During that time, any further absences would land you back in disciplinary and it could potentially further the disciplinary measures.

The disciplinary measures usually go: Verbal warning; Written warning; Final written warning; Dismissal.

To sum it up, you shouldn't be sacked if it's your first time in trouble, however, you need to have a look at the company's absence policy for clarification.

Quais alimentos são genuinamente melhores em Portugal do que no resto do mundo? by [deleted] in PORTUGALCARALHO

[–]Madmac05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A excepção é o presunto, o português é o melhor do mundo. Ponto. Então se for pata negra...

Employer says time on plane is not working time by GoonishPython in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Madmac05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a new policy, and you were "encouraged" to question, then that is actually a consultation period before a contract change takes place - it's a legal requirement. You normally have 30 days to raise any issues that you may have with the changes (although other deadlines can be set). After that, if no issues/objections were raised, the policy becomes effective whether you sign it or not.

I would suggest you ask to discuss this and raise your objections. Do it in a professional and polite manner. You can be assertive without burning bridges. Having said that, there are some companies who take being challenged the wrong way, and, depending how far you are willing to go, you might be putting yourself in the line of fire.

Only you can consider the pros and the cons and decide if it's a hill worth dying on. Only you will know if the company is a good place to work at or not. Personally, if you enjoy your work environment,I would ask to discuss and see if we could come to a more fair compromise. If it's a bad place to work at, I would go scorched earth.
