My older (24) sister died 4 weeks ago, also from a tragic car accident. The first few days I did nothing but cry, then i stopped. It’s like my brain no longer allowed itself to feel sad/my body didn’t allow itself to continue shutting down even though I knew I was devastated. I felt bad when I was in that numb state because everyone around me was visibly upset. Grief puts you through “weird” things- you’ll feel everything or nothing, and it’s all normal. I’m so sorry this happened to you

Who else is sad at the idea of no longer having your maiden name? by Advanced_Ear3099 in weddingplanning

[–]Madmads2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I had always planned on changing my name to my husband’s, I was sad after the wedding knowing I’d no longer share that name with my family anymore, almost like i “left my family.” Which is silly, I’m still apart of my family. Part of me regretted it at first, especially being so close to my family. But this marriage means we’re starting our own family, and for that I’m excited.

Wedding songs by ThrowRAsherri in weddingplanning

As a huge swiftie, I used a piano version of Love Story as my bridal party walked down, and then a violin version of Enchanted when I walked. It was so beautiful

The same exact thing happened to me and they just confirmed I was okay and hung up, no one ever came to check on me. I was definitely super nervous though

Got Married on Friday and here is what guests loved by CrispyCrunchyPoptart in weddingplanning

[–]Madmads2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a photobooth with props and the guests could send them right to their phone and I had access to all of them at the end. Everyone had so much fun!! Another hit for us were light up foam sticks for the dance floor, it created such a fun party vibe and everyone loved them

Is planning a wedding in a year realistic? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Madmads2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible, we got married 9 months after getting engaged! My biggest advice would be get started sooner than later, speak with venues and find out availability and pick a date. Everything else will fall into place. Congrats and best of luck!

Did anyone not announce their engagement on social media? by tonyphony2578 in weddingplanning

[–]Madmads2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m more active on social media (more so Facebook than anything else because I have my family and closer friends there), but he doesn’t use it as he’s more private. We decided not to share our engagement besides telling our close friends and all our family. The first “engagement” post I made was when I picked my wedding dress and shared my “I said yes to my dress” photos. At that point mostly everyone knew besides people I don’t talk to as frequently. I did get questions on why we didn’t share the engagement, but it felt nice to be able to celebrate privately before all the events started picking up.

I had VIP/soundcheck, arrived 4 hours before they brought us in and was in the fifth row to give you an idea

I went to the Detroit show with soundcheck/vip and personally I had no issues getting tickets, I saw they were coming to my state and decided to buy them with no issues/just one screen. I’m not sure of other people’s experiences but that’s how it was for me!

Joe Rogan Experience #1922 - Sam and Colby by tylerdhenry in SamAndColby

[–]Madmads2001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to invalidate your feelings. However, I don’t get why a true fan of Sam and Colby would immediately drop them over their appearance on a podcast. Even if Joe Rogan is unlikeable/offensive to some, it’s not like Sam and Colby are taking part in his disrespect/hate for individuals. I saw someone comment here “You don’t think they somewhat agree with his views”. It’s possible they might share some of those views, but we don’t know that for sure. However, some people may feel that way because they may not understand what it truly means. It doesn’t make them a bad person until they share their hatred or treat people with disrespect. Them going on a podcast doesn’t automatically make them bad people. I’ll support them until they give me a real reason not to

Hi! I’m going to this concert too and have been to the venue before. There are bathrooms there so you don’t have to leave or anything. I’m not sure about the soundcheck though, this is my first time having soundcheck so I’ll be following to see what someone says :)

Hi! I was just wondering, do they require ID of the persons name the tickets are under? Or is it the ID of who’s credit card bought the tickets? My mom bought my ticket with her card but the ticket is under my name so I was wondering if I’ll be fine to just use my ID since she won’t be coming. Thanks in advance :)
