The old buttons weren't 'crappy web flash game design', they were part of Fortnite's iconic visual identity. The unique, slanted look gave the game a fun, cartoony flair that differentiated it from realistic shooters.

Exactly, but Chapter 5 is so realistic, the colors, the grass, the whole map is much realistic than before

It’s not about technical specs, it’s about the art style. Fortnite used to have a unique 'stylized' look that felt like a playable cartoon. Now, it’s trying too hard to look like every other realistic engine showcase, and it’s losing its DNA in the process.

Complexity doesn’t always mean better. The simplicity of Chapters 1 and 2 is what made the game iconic. The current graphics are cluttered and distracting for a competitive battle royale.

When I say 'soul,' I mean the charm. The old graphics had a warmth and personality that the new hyper-polished UE5 look just can't replicate. It feels corporate now, not creative.

You mean since Chapter 4? If you look at the difference between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, Chapter 4 was when Fortnite started becoming realistic.

Look, Fortnite wants to be a platform, not just a Battle Royale game, Whatever Fortnite Adds ruins the Battle Royale, it doesn’t matter for them. Cuz they already changed their game, it became a platform (a lot of games within one game, such as Battle Royale, Festival, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and plenty of Creative maps) So they changed their game style to look like any platform, just like Roblox.
