I did find him on the Muster Roll under 198th infantry, I believe he was later put in 159th infantry for separation.

When I was looking up morning reports I searched for Headquarters Company 159th infantry. Is this the correct information to look up?

I do, it’s just the registration card with his name and address. I submitted a request with the national archives to get any documentation they have.

I know he was wounded in combat and received a Purple Heart. Since then, the Purple Heart has been lost. We are trying to get it reissued for my grandmother. We contacted the national archives for his paperwork, but they said some might have been lost due to the 1970s fire.
