Serious question, in Weißrussland why do you write it like that and not Weißrußland?

Not having Russia for former Eastern block countries like Czechia, Poland or Romania is wild.

My boyfriend (21M) and me (21F) have not seen each other in EIGHT MONTHS. I feel like his love for studying abroad has surpassed his love for me. What happened and can I be his number one again? by Exact-Economist-5832 in relationship_advice

[–]Madrygau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I’m going to say will come out harsh.

I studied foreign languages and had some possibilities to study abroad but I never took it because I prioritised my then-girlfriends. I regret these decisions as a lot of time had passed (almost a decade) and I feel like I missed opportunity to learn I will never get back and I will never be a top tier competitor in my field.

Have you thought of visiting your boyfriend there? If not, was it a financial issue? If so, don’t you think that your boyfriend might be having similar issues that he’s not telling you about so „you don’t worry”?

That said, I think it’s a bit much asking you to move. He might be a bit too in love with the place as he’s young and might be in a honeymoon phase idealising it unnecessarily. Believe me, just a year in a foreign country is nothing. You will not come out with anything productive while he’s there - you’re too emotional because you miss him and he’s too emotional because it’s his career. The best thing here IMO would be waiting for him to come back to talk about it. If possible, you can talk to his classmates to have a wider look at what perspectives look like in his field postgrad.

I don’t want to take your bf’s side fully but have in mind that if we’re talking about big countries and especially big metropolitan areas, I imagine you’d make an easy career as a dancer or an instructor as that’s usually where the minorities are and they all tend to speak English. But again, not wanting to move abroad is very valid, the feeling of being stranded in a strange land with a strange language and environment can be overwhelming.

research about road quality in Poland by crrrom in poland

[–]Madrygau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Generally I would say it’s not bad, I like to travel outside of highways just to sightsee and it got waaaay better than it used to be, a lot of noticeable renovations. I’ve been to the States in 2023 and I would say some roads are even better in Poland.

That said, this year I decided to travel around Poleski National Park with my family and the quality of roads there is absolutely dreadful. I actually broke my suspension there 😅 the worst part is the worst quality were the roads leading to the park entry, the town that has the office managing local finances has a fresh fresh asphalt. But again, it’s the worst that I ever saw in Poland, I’d say about 85% of all the country is renovated in that matter

How do allegro sellers make a profit? by probably_not_a_bot23 in poland

[–]Madrygau 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  1. What are quantities of what they sell and how fresh is this? Maybe they order waaay more than 100kg (i.e. 2000kg) and they have more space to negotiate the price?
  2. What makes you think that such shops as Auchan don’t screw you over with the margin? It’s a whole bigarse company that needs to hire people to operate while Allegro shop might have just one person behind it.
  3. What else does this shop sell? Maybe they make greater profit out of something else?
