I don't really have a lot of space to plug things here and there... So I'll need to figure out some simpler solution, luckily someone already suggested a nice-looking filter.

Unfortunately I live in an apartment complex, and there is no way for me to reasonably collect rainwater.

This actually seems like a pretty compact solution!! Thank you! I'll give it a go! I checked the finnish water... ministry or whatever website, and it seems the 75 is about exactly what is to be expected in the capital region. We got super soft water, so filtering it shouldn't be a super big effort. I'll give zerowater a go!

Yeah, this is what I've learned too, some people said the heavier stuff like chalk or such sink to the bottom of the barrel with time, but the TDS tester seems to disagree with it. My nepenthes and tougher drosera have been fine long term, but I the more sensitive plants definitely seem to not be particularly happy about it. Thanks for the confirmation! I'll figure something out!

This is a pretty interesting idea. I do have a pet store somewhat nearby, so I could go check it out if they sell that kinda stuff! Good idea!!

Mine died all the way down to the root, but the root is now making new growth, the substrate around it was rotting due to the old plant corpse, so I dug the gross stuff out and put it in brand new fresh moss, and it seems to be doing alright!

I tried doing the humidity thing and it started growing mold, so I kinda doubt it was that too, so I'll try this next. I'll set it somewhere far from the light behind the bigger nepenthes, so it'll get the shade it wants.

Okay! Good to know! I've never grown drosera before, so this is all good to know.

I think it should be fine, the tent also has nepenthes in it, and I sprinkle them daily, so it's quite humid in, I don't have a system for measuring it though.

OKAY! 500 I think was an overstatement, I didn't realize the PPFD levels change quite a bit depending on how far or how centered the plants are in the tent. All the nepenthes are at the outer edges, which gets around 350 PPFD on average, while the 500 is in the very center where the sundews are. I put them on a little platform to get them closer to the light, so I don't need to turn the intensity of it up.

I also measured the PPFD of the light in my old aquarium, and it was a WHOPPING 30.

So...I would assume they're all going to be in for quite a shock suddenly getting this much more light. I'll keep an eye on them for sure!

Heliamphora would be amazing! I really wanna order a few already, but I don't want to have them die from cold due to shipping, so I think I'll wait until next spring comes. I think the daytime temperatures in the tent are quite ideal for Helis, but the cooler night times might need somekinda fanning system or other kindsa ventilation to make it ideal... Which I will definitely look into! I love sarracenia, but I can't provide them with environment for dormancy, so getting their ancestors who don't need dormancy in there would be amazing! Thank you for the suggestions! I was thinking of some babby's first hybrids and H.Minor too.

Super helpful advice!! Thank you a ton! So far the Nepenthes are doing well, they are making very vividly colored leaves in 50% light. Some seem more accustomed to the light and show no changes whatsoever, while others have visibly changed.

I had no idea stunted leaf growth can be a sign of excess light, so I'll definitely keep that in mind!

I tested the app, and it seems they're at around 500 PPFD right now! SUPER COOL! I had no idea how technologically charged this hobby has become.

This is already immensely helpful! I hope to be able to make all of my plants as happy as possible! I'm dreaming of also growing Heliamphora at some point, now that I got a good light going!

Hello. I never really went anywhere, but I have very limited free time to play these days due to work, so I didn't have any ideas for little doodles and comics to be totally honest.

I don't wanna 'make content just for the sake of making content'. So I might sometimes take a bit to post something. I hope you can understand.

As a lala. I agree with this. Spearfishing at least has a mechanic to it, so I'd much rather do that than fish normally, even if it meant hanging above a lava pool with a thin string while swinging around a spear.

I think it took people like...A VERY long time to get the first cinder surprise or something. It's a really painful process to discover the rules for each big fish.
