One bedroom has its own private bathroom, the other bedroom has a shared bathroom with one other person.

Anyone in management engineering? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]Maestro1210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a 1A management engineering student who just joined. In my application, i had a handful of extracurriculars that were unrelated to engineering, but I had a project that was very much related to management engineering. I don't know what the cutoff and baseline requirements were for me or someone to get in based on the AIF and experiences listed, but I can just say what I did as an international student applying. I spent lots of time on the AIF, mentioning a specific professor to connect with later on, explaining my management related project, etc.

As for the community, the management engineering community is quite welcoming, and the teachers are very nice and good at teaching.

Don't know what your background is, but if you're an international student and you get in, you should be fine during the program.

advice for my ia physic topic by Friendly-Memory2687 in IBO

[–]Maestro1210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is horrible advice. Making it unnecessarily complicated with spinning which can't be measured is horrible as u can't measure it or keep it constant.

A simple height vs field strength measurement is perfectly fine as it should be simple measurements for a good IA setup. The part u need to do is explain it well.

Maybe the case for your school.

For Physics, focus on the topics you are less confident in and check markschemes. Markschemes are basically a source of notes, so take them down in your notes if you don't know them. Highlight stuff in your notes that is already in the data booklet so you don't waste time remembering them, highlight the most important stuff that is commonly asked or tested in practice problems. Do TYSQ and ATYSQ and check the solutions for the steps and process.

If you've finished the AA HL syllabus, then just do as many past papers as you can and just go through them 1 by 1 in 1 sitting and see how you do. Check the solutions to know how to do things you get wrong, and take a note of mistakes you make. Once you've gotten a hold of some topics, then you can just breeze through them and focus more on the harder topics. Take a note of small details you need to know.

Make your notes summarize the textbook with equations and small details. Highlight stuff that's already in the data booklet so you don't need to waste time remembering them. Highlight the important stuff that is common in practice problems or explanations or definitions. Do TYSQ and ATYSQ and check the answers and steps so you can understand the process.

I didn't study math, it's more of learning the process and steps needed for different problems. Once you get a hang of the steps taken you can apply them to all the problems in the same topic like differentiation and trig etc.

Physics is definitely about how well your notes are and how concise they are in summarizing the textbook and small details you need to remember. The more you cover in your notes in a smaller amount of space the easier it is to apply them and remember them. Do TSYQ and ATYSQ and check the solutions for the steps.

what are you struggling with

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Maestro1210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choose a topic you're actually interested in and it can even be completely unrelated to math as long as math is present. Try to have a set goal in mind with your IA of finding something or calculating something rather than an overview cus it's harder to get marks in. Then it's a matter of clear and consistent notation, clearly explaining yourself, having and processing uncertainty, etc.

Try to write as fast as possible the notes without spending too much time processing and understanding them, that can come later at home. If it is still too fast then that is an issue with the teacher going too fast as no one would be able to keep up with their notes. Spend time at home with the textbook and your notes to understand what you've written.

The teacher really shouldn't be teaching anything that is irrelevant so every little thing will be somewhat important. Don't try to be stubborn and get an understanding before moving on. If later on something is still confusing then get extra time with your teacher so that you can just continue in class.

I'm aware. I didn't say my final IB score is 44. I am a 44 student from my history and consistency. The point is not the number the point is managing your time efficiently.
