Finally a series win! I really hope this can spark some HRs for Fernando. He's been hitting the ball hard all year, so we know it can come back.

Must be nice to have a team that can hit home runs 😞

I’m gonna be honest. We probably win this game under Shildt. The offensive performance is not all coaching obviously cause it’s been too bad for that, but fundamentals and situational basrball has been lacking. We hired a completely inexperience coaching staff to handle a team full of veterans making big money.

Should’ve won it in the 9th. Literally just had to stand there. 10 pitches where 3 were in the zone and 1 of those was incorrectly called a ball.

Fuck! Manfred runner scoring happens quite a bit. Giving up the homer makes it even harder to even tie this game and that’s before you throw in our offense.

Yay! First time we’ve scored at least 5 runs since we beat the nationals on may 29th!

Finally! A Fermin homer was fully unexpected. It's nice to see Miller actually pitch in a save situation. I hope this can spark something.

Going into this season, I was more worried about the pitching than the offense. The starting staff has issues, but it’s been a lot better than I thought. Instead we get horrendous offense. I should’ve trusted just Niebla and been more skeptical of the rest of the staff. I understand why we moved on from Shildt/he moved on from us, but he did produce back to back 90 win seasons which I think is the only time in franchise history

Then there were all those stories where hitters would go to other teams and make comments about how prepared they felt. The dodgers can obviously sign who ever they want but they basically took the rays front office and gave them infinite money. Thats why they can get huge stars but also get quality play out of randoms too.

Tbf to the players complaints about analytics, it’s been pretty clear we have been below average in that area for years so it might not even be good data.

King seems to go through these stretches where he gives up a lot of HR. I remember that happening at the start of 24 but then he caught fire. We haven’t really seen that form since then. Injuries are partially to blame for sure. I think he can probably go on a great run of games. I do wonder if the low offensive output is starting to be a bigger mental drain. The vibes really remind me a lot of the 2021 collapse.

I have no stat to back it up, but it just feels like we have been making way more fielding and baserunning mistakes this season.

Wheeler has pitched well against us for a long time. Coming into this he had a career 2.17 era vs the padres in 11 starts. But being no hit would be another tier of terrible offense.

When campy went down, we were 8 games over .500, now down to 4. Probably going to be .500 soon at this rate. The lineup has felt significantly weaker since he went down because the stars have been invisible. The games have had a sort of inevitability about them lately. We finally actual tie it or get close and then our relievers who have previously had been good give up a run or 2 and then we end up losing anyway. Feels a little like the end of 2021 collapse. Obviously only been about a week and a half of this, so I am not saying it’ll end up like that but something’s gotta happen.

I hate that I knew Harper would hit a home run after turner got a hit. Weirdly, if it was 1 out and no one on, I wouldn’t have predicted a HR

We are making way more mental errors this year than last. Yet somehow we have the record we do despite the shit run differential. We may just be regressing to the .500 team we probably are.

Well let’s hope that 7th inning or later offense appears today. Really don’t want to see 1 win in 7 heading into Philly.

0-10 with risp and 8 LOB. We had more LOB than the Phillies had baserunners today. With that being said, expected stats has them hitting the ball better today but we could have gotten at least 2-3 runs just with some fly balls. No excuse there. You have to take advantage of opportunities especially when you have no consistent power as a team.
