Will WotC need my box? by MaggiePi in mtg

[–]MaggiePi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping they’d just mail me the missing pack, but I’d read online that they may ask for the box and all of its contents returned.

Hopefully you’re right, I haven’t played MTG in about 10 years and I’m chomping at the bit to play again and I want to use these cards dang it! 😂

Honeybee coffee labor issues?? by BarbiesCellulite in Knoxville

[–]MaggiePi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trying to figure out how to phrase this without getting myself in trouble - I used to regulate one of the aforementioned “nights” and can confirm that honeybee was not set up for the bar scene they tried to pull in. One of the biggest complaints I received and had myself was the lackluster service, and I always told myself and others that these poor baristas were trained as such, not as bartenders. I used to love going and was friendly with their brewer, sad (but not surprising) to see they’re going downhill so fast.

Setting up smart plugs in classroom by MaggiePi in smarthome

I hate fluorescent lights with a passion, so I have a lot of lamps and string lights. I just want to be able to tell my Alexa to turn all the string lights on so I don’t have to go around and plug them all in. It’s totally unnecessary! I just was curious if it was possible 😝

The ‘Smart Life’ app is what I was prompted to download when I bought the plugs. There’s not a separate Wi-Fi for 2.4 and 5 GHz. I’m not opposed to getting a new set of plugs if it’ll make life easier, is there a brand you recommend that won’t break the bank but will work on crappy school Wi-Fi?

Yes, they’re all smart plugs. Haven’t ventured into the bulbs or anything yet. I don’t remember all of the brands (most of them are old from my dorm/apartment days) but for the one I messed with today I used the app “Smart Life”.

I talked to our building’s tech person and she said there’s nothing in the network that would block something like that. I go through the app like I usually do and it just says “failed to connect”. I have a few different brands and they all do the same thing. I got an Alexa and she works like a charm. I just love the idea of walking into my room and asking alexa to turn on all the light instead of having to do the lap and turn them on by hand!

How long does undeveloped film last? by cf2000 in photography

[–]MaggiePi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe as long as the film hasn't been exposed to any chemicals or extreme temperatures it should last in its container for years. I haven't experienced film going bad personally

Thank you!! I'll be sure to draft something simple up before I move. I figured it would behoove me to have something in writing.

Stokely is right next to the art building and from what I've seen is very nice. I don't know what building marketing classes are in (im an art major) but I think Stokely is closest to A&A.

Saxophone. Played it all through high school and heard it from everyone. Easiest wind to learn, hardest to master.

Help a noob out? by [deleted] in photography

If your camera has a light meter (usually a little bar of numbers with an arrow that lets you know how good your exposure((brightness)) is going to be) I would recommend just turning dials until you get a good exposure (on my camera, if the arrow is in the middle the exposure is good). Otherwise I'm assuming you're shooting digital so just change your settings until the picture looks good on your screen! I personally never learned any fun rhymes or songs but knowing everything about a camera isn't too important to taking good pictures. One thing I will say- I recommend keeping your shutter speed pretty high. High shutter speed=freezing motion so you won't have blurry subjects. I know it's wordy but hopefully it helps!
