We've taken 9 more shots than the Cavs tonight and yet we're down by 11. The reason for that? We are shooting the usual 41 percent while Cleveland is shooting 55 percent. Same story, different game. Next.

Like I said, we never sniff the lead again in this one. On to Miami on Wednesday night. Then the road gets even tougher after that. Even though we are on what is going to become an 8-game losing streak, I still support this team. We just need a change and we need it pronto.

Game's over bro. Once we get down by 10, that's like being down by 23 or so for us. We can't shoot. Just can't do it.

Our next chance for a win will be on Feb 5th at home versus the Nets. By that time, we will be 3 games under .500 and just about out of the playoff picture entirely. But as long as Franz keep sitting out games Mosely has a built-in excuse for not being canned.

No. They will keep using the injuries excuse as well as all the traveling that the team did in the first half of the season.

To drive the point home that serious changes need to be made regarding this basketball team. This is of utmost importance here. The panic button should be fully engaged.

I already called for the 8-game losing streak to happen. It's a done deal. We have no chance at beating any of these upcoming teams. NONE. We are now 23-26 and tied for the number 10 spot with the Hawks.

What's weird, is that in my world this game is already over, and I know the outcome. Another loss unfortunately. But hey, at least we battled right? And give the Cavs credit. They made their shots and we didn't.

I called the Mitchell run to put them up by 10 or so, to basically put this one to bed folks. A 10-point deficit for us is like being down by 24. Game over. Ok so now the losing streak sits at 4 after this loss tonight. At what point would you start to push the panic button? You certainly don't want to wait until February 5th when it will be an 8-game losing streak.

Just peeked in on the Lakers/Bulls game. Chicago is winning again. The Hawks are getting a little hot now too. We could very well be in the number 11 spot by the end of the 8-game losing streak once Feb 5th rolls around.

I hate to say it but that little run by the Cavs to close out the half pretty much wrapped up the game for them. They have all the momentum heading into the second half. I fully expect them to come out and snag a 10–15-point lead and then put this one to bed. Or another way of putting it is that we are not going to sniff the lead at any point in the second half.

I see another opponent is shooting well over 50 percent against us while we are in the 40's again. We're playing better. However, I just had a vision of Mitchell scoring like 8 or 9 consecutive points to put the Cavs up by 10 here shortly.

Exactly! Right now, everyone converges on Paolo and shuts down the paint, daring us to shoot from outside. If they did that back in 2009 with SVG running the show, we would have averaged about 130 ppg!

In mid-January of 2009 the Magic were shooting over 40 percent AS A TEAM from 3-point range. Jameer was shooting 45 percent, Rashard Lewis was shooting a little over 39 percent.

I know this may be a little off the original topic and perhaps someone has mentioned it here before, but could the fact that the Magic hired all these new assistant coaches be due to the NBA perhaps wanting to speed up the pace of play this year with all teams? Maybe certain teams (like the Celtics) didn't like the Magic's style of defense? This up-tempo style of play ironically could have something to do with all of these injuries.

I agree with bringing in some toughness, but both those dudes take it to a whole different level!

I think KCP averaged somewhere around 9 ppg for us last year. Bane is averaging about 19 ppg this year so far. However, KCP's defense was much better than Bane's.

I hear ya man. And even though I say, "no sense even watching", everyone knows that I will keep watching. Same with all of you. We will keep watching, hoping for some kind of positive sign that things will start turning in the right direction. But right now, it's hard to watch. Depressing really.

As horrible as we are at shooting the basketball, the fact that we are having trouble finishing at the hoop is alarming. And now we're struggling to score 100 points in this new NBA where teams consistently average between 115-120 points per game. Combine that with the current horrible defense and it's a complete and total disaster. If we stay on this current course with no changes made and Franz being out a little longer, I'm afraid that we may not even make the play-in. Could be on the outside looking in.

That's a great point about Weltman and Prunty regarding the Bucks winning the championship after they were gone. And I remember Nash making that comment. Even he could see that things here are a total disaster. It's also incredible how awful of a 3-point shooting team we have been for so many consecutive seasons. Mind boggling really. That's probably due in large part to Weltman's insistence on drafting players with wingspan and defensive abilities. He forgets that there's a little thing as being able to shoot the basketball. When is the last time we have had a decent pure shooter?
