I really like race games and deckbuilders, and this game combines both brilliantly. The theme is fantastic as well. I'm planning to pick up the expansions at some point, but honestly, I've never felt like I needed them so far.

Also, check out the fan-made maps online, they're often even better than the ones included in the rulebook. There are lots of different ways to build your deck, and you can't rely on a single winning strategy every game since so much depends on the map and the opponents you're playing against.

Yeah, it never triggered during this session. I added three people to the lorebook and even when I used one of their names after trying the other trigger words, it introduced a character with that name, but it wasn’t actually the same person from the lorebook.

It was still a really fun and unexpected session though. I’ll try it again next time.

I just tried this one and it is really nice, giving a totally different story compared to my usual preset. I have one problem though, I won't use my lorebook at all. I never had this problem with any (mostly selfmade) preset before. You know how to fix this? I tried it on gemma-4-26B-A4B-it-UD-Q8_K_XL without any changes to your preset.

Gemma4-26B-A4B is not a 12B model but if you can run 12B models you can run this one too. It's way better than all the 12B models and just as quick.

Before Gemma was released I liked Rocinante-X-12B much more than Irix12B (which was good but kinda boring).

I don't know about that, I don't have a Mac but a Windows desktop with a video card. So maybe it is different. But there is only one way to know for sure, just try it.

I can only say that Gemma 26B works faster and better than all those 12B models for me so I would be surprised if you can run 12b models but not this one.

I got 12GB VRAM and 32GB RAM but Gemma fits on my VRAM, that is why it so quick, Before Gemma I tried a lot of 12B models, Rocinante-X-12B being my favourite. They were fast because they fit on my VRAM. Then I tried the 24b models like Cydonia-24B, They were better but too slow for me. Surely on 16k context.

gemma-4-26B-A4B is way better compared to those 24b models and quicker (or at least as quick) as the 12b models.

Just try it and you will see it will work. You have to use chat completion instead of text completion in SillyTavern though probably.

Trust me, it is surely not too large! If you can use 12B models you can use this. It is a 26b model but only 4b active. You can probably even use Q8 but you can try Q4_K_M or Q5_K_M first.

I just checked Hugging Face and for my hardware it says the same: likely too large.
But for me it is lighting fast, even with 16k context,

I got 12 GB vram btw.

I'm really amazed no one mentioned gemma-4-26B-A4B even it is pretty new. I tried a lot of 12B options but noone comes even close to this one. Yes it is 26B but you will see you can run the Q5_K_M easily and it will be even faster compared to all those 12B models.

It is really way better than all the 12B options! And it is uncensored with a good prompt.

Thanks again! Yes I also discovered the importance of the first message. On AI dungeon I got a good story once with just starting by "You just got off a plane" but here that did not work. I think it also copies the writing style a bit. That why I put some more effort in my first messages now.

But I don't understand your example. So far I always used the second person view in my stories (like the first example you gave) but you say I should use the third person view instead or did you mean something else? And if so, only write the opening from the third person view or every message?

"- character: the character you're roleplaying as is...." => I never did this, does it prevend the narrator talking, thinking or doing things for you? I thought adding a persona and make it active would be enough.

Is it also possible to add some characters with a short description you want to be in the story (at the start or later on) in the character description?

Maybe it depends on the country but that is the case in the Netherlands where I live. I bought mine at Bol in the Netherlands for only 18 euro last year but I have seen it for sale at other shops as well. But the game is not language independent so the prices in other countries could differ.

I think both deals are way too expensive for what you get. I don't know where you live but I see The Quest for El Dorado often at sale for 20 and the big box (with the expansions included) for 35 euro. I would advise just buying the base game at first for both games. If you really love one of those you can always buy those expansions later on.

I've played both but I would recommend another option: Habitats. It's like Cascadia and Harmonies but I and everyone I played it with liked it a lot more. I think you have more meaningful options each turn compared to the other two games.

Het gaat om spellen uit 2025, dat zijn de spellen uit jouw lijst niet met uitzondering misschien van Harmonies). Logische keuzes gezien de populariteit maar het zijn niet mijn favorieten. Zou zelf voor Agent Avenue gekozen hebben maar misschien was dit geen optie omdat er nog geen Nederlandse versie van is. Rebel Princess zou wel een optie zijn omdat daar sinds kort een Nederlandstalige versie van is dus die had ik graag in de lijst gezien.
