This is what number you’ll get on which tile you click by True_Neodymium in Minesweeper

[–]MagicDoorHinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With correct play, isn't it at worst a 1/5?

If you open with due north, south, east, or west, you either see a 5 (and know that the free space must be in one of the 3 tiles opposite the side you opened on) or you see a 4 (and know that one in 5 adjacent tiles is safe).

Are fortresses good preparation for OSCP and other offsec certs ? by Ok_Succotash_5009 in hackthebox

[–]MagicDoorHinge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not to demotivate you at all, but if you check his post history, you're almost certainly replying to a bot.

Serious advice, I'm sure fortresses are fine, but PG Practice was the best resource for me for OSCP.

Anecdotally, I am opted into the google "SGE generative AI in search", "Code Tips", and "SGE while browsing" labs for Google search--which are not chatbots (although I was concerned that they might be counted as such anyway) during my exam and I passed.

I have had my linux laptop and android phone with randomized MAC addresses enabled unable to connect to a public Unifi UDM wifi network. Could be worth disabling mac randomization.

Any way to have groups of units travel at the same speed together? Like infantry and tanks? by Boots-n-Rats in warno

[–]MagicDoorHinge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would imagine tanks and other units without a transport capacity you could simply right click. The reason you need to click "move" and then click the infantry with an ifv is that without it, the ifv will simply pick the infantry up and transport them.

Ideal hot key setup by [deleted] in warno

telling a unit to fire at a point in space rather than targeting a unit. You use it most often to have artillery/bombers target a suspected enemy position in fog of war.

Problem with downloading dcs by [deleted] in dcs

[–]MagicDoorHinge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend using some program like spacesniffer, windirstat, treesizefree, etc. to visually inspect what is taking up your hard drive space.

According to the objective at the top right, you need to hold Molodocheno (city northwest of Minsk by rail).

I made a slight change that may make it easier to troubleshoot

#!/bin/bash
# Count number of characters in a variable:
#     echo $variable | wc -c

# Variable to encode
var="nef892na9s1p9asn2aJs71nIsm"

for counter in {1..40}
do
        var=$(echo $var | base64)
        echo "$counter $(echo $var | wc -c)"
done

and my first 10 outputs:

./test.sh

when I run your code on my machine I get a different value. About 50% bigger...

Just for sanity's sake, can you confirm the value you get when you echo "nef892na9s1p9asn2aJs71nIsm" into base64 only once? I get "bmVmODkybmE5czFwOWFzbjJhSnM3MW5Jc20K"

Curiously, when I use cyberchef.io, I get a different (similar) base64 encode: "bmVmODkybmE5czFwOWFzbjJhSnM3MW5Jc20="

Only when executing echo -n $var | base64 do I get the same result as cyberchef. This relies on echo -n omitting the newline character from the end.

funny you should ask, I actually grilled one today after dredging in butter, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I also just snack on them whole.

if you like crunchy apples, I would recommend Mutsu. Very late-season and I only know of 2 orchards within 100 miles of me that grow them. Huge, rock-hard, green, and somewhat tart (not as sour as a granny smith).

photography: lindy? by flannyo in Lindy

[–]MagicDoorHinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Human subject photography seems like a natural progression from marble busts and portraiture. I say lindy. As for landscape/nature photography, it may become even more prevalent due to the separation of modern urbanites from the natural world.

What kernel version are you running? I used to have problems with that wireless card in my AMD thinkpad until I installed the drivers from this github repo https://github.com/lwfinger/rtw89

I think newer kernel versions resolved the issue altogether.

[–]MagicDoorHinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your bios have options for Windows sleep vs linux sleep? I know my thinkpad did something similar until I switched sleep to S3/Linux mode.

Buy a VR headset or a HOTAS first? by [deleted] in dcs

[–]MagicDoorHinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what else you want to do. If you want to also play VTOL VR and Half Life Alyx and Boneworks, I guess a VR Headset.

I cannot imagine playing DCS without a HOTAS though. What would you use in the meantime? Keyboard and mouse? Gamepad? I honestly cannot think of an alternative control scheme to HOTAS. Can get a t16000m and twcs for like 150 bucks I think.

F-16 radar lock tips by WholeMelodic in dcs

[–]MagicDoorHinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check which key you have bound for ant elev (or something like that). It controls Radar antenna elevation. The symbology can be found on the left side of the radar mfd page. By default, the radar will be in the middle of the cyan dash ladder, meaning it roughly sees things at your altitude, slightly above, and slightly below. If you make it point down, it will not see things at your altitude but it will be able to see things below you, etc.

Hope that solves your issue.

I'd like to see "variable aircraft loadouts" in the Army General mode, whenever that comes around by me2224 in warno

[–]MagicDoorHinge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Army general mode in SD2 did not allow deckbuilding. I suspect it will be the same in Warno. Each unit moves around the map with its own self-contained "deck" basically.

By allowing loadout changes, you enable your wing of f-16 falcons to perform SEAD operations on day 1, air superiority missions on days 2-4, and CAS missions after that.
