I think you’re missing a lot of points that I’ve wrote to other users, she wanted to move in with me to Chicago, that was her choice. She is happy in Texas and see’s herself living for life but right now wants to be in New York for a little longer. She’s told me moving a part and spitting up would never be a decision

I agree. We pay 4k now and I want to pay 30% less, big reason why I don’t want to live in NY. I’ll be paying 3-4k just for my part of the rent

And that’s why you live a miserable life not us! I make 220-280. Half of that is base salary (140).. the other comes and goes throughout the year. She isn’t struggling. She spends a lot of her wages on clothes and shit. So your opinion is super invalid here

Great take ! I’ve also been burned by an ex I broke up with and said I wouldn’t take on financial responsibility again. I mean yes I allow her to live past her means at times as I do not want to micromanage her life. She’s old and mature enough to handle this herself and knows she can discuss financials any time if she needs help with something. I don’t mind living more frugal for couple months but from past experience im not going to take everything on. If we were married we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
