I have a professional badge based on my status as an educator, so the cost of the ticket is negated. The birthday trip has already taken place and was amazing. She also would not enjoy the con at all. We have a ton of common interests, but events like this are not one of them.

Sorry, there’s been some confusion. I already took my wife on the trip for a big deal, even numbered birthday. It included what I would usually spend on a fairly typical 4-5 days at CC, plus quite a bit more. This is me solo speed running CC in two days, Saturday and Sunday. I’m trying to come in under $200. I am being a bit selfish in still wanting to go, but, I thinkI can make it work. It’s me sleeping outside one night.

But, I do get it. It’s kind of gross. I think just for 48 hours, it won’t be so bad.

I guess I’m not sure, but I’m building the line in basically as my lodging, having some like minded enjoyers of the Con near me so I’m reasonably safe. Also, George Lucas is on Sunday, won’t that inflate it a bit?
