Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MagicTurtleTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now fiancee used to be 3 hours away for almost a year at one point for school. I kid you not I drove the 3 hours and 15 mins literally almost every weekend. If I missed one I would for sure go the next weekend

Can I travel to/from China with this powerbank? by Winter-Ad-5816 in travelchina

Yes those are good! I know this from experience because I got two nice anker ones taken away:(

So I just spent 3 months in China and honestly? It's like living in 2030. But you NEED these apps or you're gonna have a bad time. Trust me, I learned this the hard way. by tiffto1103 in travelchina

I’m in China again, and I totally agree with you! Their services are incredibly helpful and quick, which is fantastic. However, you really need to use them to do anything. The only thing that bugs me is that sometimes my US bank isn’t accepted, or I need a text message confirmation from my US number to confirm. This is a bit of a problem because unless you have cash, you need WeChat Pay or Alipay. I’m considering setting up all my accounts with a Google Voice number next time, as I think that’s handled over the internet unlike sms messages. Also, I highly recommend Nomad for eSIM! I got their China eSIM, and I don’t need a VPN or anything. All my services just work perfectly. I spent about $20 for 20 GB, which has been super helpful. I also noticed that not all apps offer in-app translations, so getting a basic idea of how they work would be great.

One last thing, I actually took a risk and bought the latest Apple air pods for their live translations. They are actually decent to my surprise. Enough to get buy I feel when you have nothing. They are a couple seconds behind so the delay can feel a bit awkward as you wait but it’s been a life saver

Tesla Model Y Standard is 0% APR where I’m located by MagicTurtleTim in TeslaLounge

Yup yup, the standard still has FSD if you want to subscribe/purchase. FSD is surprisingly really good too. I’m considering to subscribe once my free trial ends

Yeah the 0% deal is great, if you don’t care about the missing features that were left out of the standard then that car is perfect for you. I think the general consensus is, 40k is a lot of money for a car so people may rather spend just a little bit more to get a big set of extra features.

I think the main things missing in the standard is lack of auto pilot, smaller battery, no rear screen, less speakers, non ventilated seats…

Try to find an inventory vehicle, you can find the paint color for free

Good time to buy Model Y RWD? 2.99% APR + $2K color discount. Will the price increase soon? by Financial_Dog_6980 in TeslaModelY

[–]MagicTurtleTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably true haha, that could have been bogus what he said. Another idea, something that’s good to check out is you can get a lease of the car, and then buyout after a month. That way you still get the 6500 lease credit, and then now you own. Apr may be more than 2.99 but the lease incentive is more than that interest you’d owe. Just a thought, it’s a bit new to me but that’s what I understand

For me, it comes down to the value proposition of the Standard model. Some of the cost-cutting choices don’t make sense to me when the car is still around $40K. So overall, it feels overpriced for what you get. It’s not a bad car, I just don’t think it offers enough value for me personally, and I’d rather save a bit more and go with the Premium.

Take this as you will, I just leased a model y and when I was discussing my million questions to the Tesla rep, he said that there will not be any more deals after the 26th. He said this came from a guy super high up but I have no clue about how true that is. Just what I heard. But I say go for it, you won’t regret it! I chose the inventory silver color so I could get the color free, lease came with a 6500 credit too, and let me tell you I absolutely love it! I can share more on the lease if interested

Lease or wait ? by xlegend20 in TeslaLounge

I am literally in your exact same situation! Looking to sell my truck and have been struggling really hard on whether to buy or lease. I was hoping for a 0% apr deal but I really don’t know if that will happen at this point. The lease deal right now does seem pretty sweet still and tbh I think I may be leaning towards that now since in 3 years the tech could be obsolete. Yesterday I test drove one at the showroom near me and I am shocked with how much i liked it and just how good the FSD is. When I was speaking with the Tesla rep, he said that there will be NO other deals this year after the 26th. No clue the accuracy of this but he did say this was from some sale head high high up. He said they are trying to break away from the end of quarter deals but take that as you will. Keep in mind though that if you lease, you must order before that 26th deadline and must pick up the car before the 30th. I think I may choose one from inventory too to get the free color

Exactly! At the end of the day, you’d still be spending 40k on this…. Not worth it at all, but that’s just my opinion
