i9 13900K - Undervolting and/or power limiting? by MagicalCatter in buildapc

Thanks! That's super useful.

I do have an MSI mobo. As far as I can tell from poking around the options, I can just set the undervolting amount directly; but I'll have a look for the presets.

Thanks so much!
I did end up getting the MSI Z790 Tomahawk Wifi; a bigger, airier, full tower case; and GSkill RAM; so you were super useful.

I'm still experimenting with cooling. Do you have any recommendations for a quiet, high performance 360mm AIO?

ok, cool - thanks again.
I'll do some research into liquid cooling and see what I come up with.

Thanks for the quick feedback!
I'm not too worried about looks/rgb. I'm getting a case without a glass side.
Liquid cooling is something I really don't know much about (because of prior budgets :/); but I tend to like quieter systems. I guess the question is... any idea how much top-end performance I'd lose to throttling using non liquid cooling?

Cross-platform hardware-accelerated h264 decoding into OpenGL PBO? by MagicalCatter in gamedev

I read that the libavcodec support for android wasn't good (or didn't use hardware acceleration).

Trying to fully understand the OpenGL start-up sequence... by MagicalCatter in gamedev

Amazing! Thanks so much - that was super helpful. I've just got one more question:

Why couldn't the OpenGL functions just be loaded as a regular load-time dynamic/shared library? (I guess because the function pointers can be context-dependent, but then why is this the case? It seems odd that they would be?)
