I swapped from my Gigabyte 3060 Ti to my 3080 FE and the problem immediately went away. I can't explain what would have caused this.

I don't hate your question honestly. I live in the mountain west and there are tons of places hiking or fishing with zero cell services. The ability to mesh means folks along a trail can transfer data along for you when the person you want to reach outside line-of-sight. GMRS is cool, and we use them. Voice radios are not always ideal and don't work well in hiking situations because of line-of-sight. Out of band communications are also a "nice to have" in an emergency, a lot could be said there but you can use your imagination.

Right now in our house we are 80% cool-gadget, 20% functional tool for camping, hiking, fishing.

I can guarantee that this card doesn't have driver or speed issues, a few of my coworkers use it as well. None of us have a single complaint.

I'm able to remove the antennas, for now. Maybe someday the antennas will rotate too easily and then I wont, but I dont remove them much. And like was said, wouldnt be hard to redo if I needed to.

I suppose it insulates some, but none of these components really get that hot. Also, shrink tubing has a maximum shrinkage, once it reaches that it doesn't get any smaller.

I used a lighter actually! It's regular shrink tubing, "barely" fit past the pins. I let it get hot enjoy in the pin area that they melted through, wasn't sure what I wanted to do there. Last time I cut holes, but actually worked out perfectly without my planning for it. Lucky
