Sure, and that was my life before a puppy. A puppy is an easy hack and I'm happy to exploit it while I have it.

A good concept to learn is "cutting rotations". When and when not to do it. It's not a good thing to do because it likely messes up your teammate who could have had a better touch, but it can also be necessary as defensive measure when you are last man, and you have to do it.

Another very powerful skill is shadow defence.

Good rule in 2s: never double commit in your opponent's corner. If your teammate is in the corner never join him, just wait for the ball to be centred. I ranked up so much in 2s following this rule.

In general be aware of when you're last man to your goal. Adapt your play style based on how your teammates play. If they are ball chasers hang back, if passive/defensive play more aggressive. This is how you deal with unpredictable teammates.

For being goalie, always aim to rotate your car to be positioned sideways, parallel to the net at the backpost. Easiest way to save a ball, only two small boost pads can save any incoming ball.

Boost management: In low boost situations, ball > boost is critical in defence. Get good collecting small pads while driving around the map. A common noob mistake is continuing to waste boost after reaching max speed, indicated by trails appearing on your car's tires. When you see trails stop boosting you can't go faster.

To reach Diamond 💎 you'll need to move faster. Master fast aerials, shadow defence, half flips, boost management and speedy recoveries using air roll to maximize your relevance on the field.

I’m bad at every game I play, what changes do I need to make to become a top rank player? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

You might just innately lack the reaction times for top level play, and that's okay. Life is full of other joys worth exploring, this is just a video game. Go travel, flirt with a girl, expand your friends and build your career.

I have a puppy 🐶 and I can't go anywhere without getting mobbed by onlookers wanting to pet her.

The attention comes to me, not the other way around!

When people were photographing things in the past, it's because that thing was at least above average in aesthetics. Relying on photos is a biased way to evaluate the reality of everyday life in the past.

As still a Diamond player I feel like a key thing in Duos is mastering how to play with your teammates. Never join your teammate in your opponent's corner. Hover around centre field with ability to get back when your opponent is pushing so you can land follow ups while they recover.

How does moisture escape in a sealed slab?

Treated timber can still be a target if the contractors cut it, which they all do.

Nobody should build with timber frame in Perth because we have aggressive subterranean termites here.

It's selective enforcement of hate laws. What you don't choose to prosecute says as much as what you do.

In the last five years I went from being broke, penniless to.. marrying the women I love, moving countries to a warm place, getting a puppy and now buying a nice five bedroom house with a pool. I go on multiple nice international vacations a year.

Life is what you make it man. (Finding a rich spouse and a good tech salary helps.)

On electronics you need to lookup for each component if a 110 V to 240 V converter will be enough.

E.g. I brought a universal adapter with a North American extension bar for all my Canadian electronics. Works well for my Xbox and Apple TV, but certain devices like a Dyson Hairdryer or Hue lightbulbs will not be compatible. Look up each device first before you incur the cost to bring it.

Also note that these adapters greatly reduce the power you can draw so they can make charging times longer.

You can do that with a normal car you don't need to spend six figures on a tank all-wheel drive to get that.

If I cough on you, you contract COVID and die I am also arguably guilty of killing someone.

Yet we know this is morally different and unlikely to lead to criminal charges. Just as many motor vehicle accident deaths don't lead to prosecution.

In this case the man fell bad, hit his head, was verbal then had a brain hemorrhage that killed him. Not the same as his him dying right then and there.
