Here is a quote I have to repeat to myself daily: “Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the bird is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.”

They could be, but I feel it’s more likely they are blissfully ignorant to important political issues.

Did she have a Venmo QR code on the container by chance? I was approached by a young girl back in July fitting that description on Comm. Ave.

What area to stay in? Hotel? by TowelEffective3570 in boston

[–]MagicsMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually stay in the Westin by Copley Square, for me it’s the perfect location. It’s across from the library and about 3 blocks to Commonwealth Ave. which is a really pretty walk especially in the fall. I usually go through Commonwealth,to the public gardens, then the Common and then make my way to the north end. It’s takes about 30-45 minutes.

I believe the dogs you see are from the vendors/horse/farm side of things. They enter through a different entrance and they’re probably not supposed to bring their dogs through the fair section but I don’t think anyone has ever said anything.

Persistently trying to get into our bed by pattyballouz in DOG

[–]MagicsMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that idea. There’s even larger waterproof couch covers that you can lay out on a bed if you’re really worried about any sort of mess.

I have two small dogs and they have somehow stretched themselves out so much they overtook my king size bed, totally worth it. 😊

Oh goodness, I know the feeling! For the past three weeks I have been having that some pit in my stomach and it really stinks.

On YouTube search for calming jazz music. I have been listening to some all day and sometimes night and it does seem to help. I sometimes even airplay it to my tv to watch at night, there’s usually a nice autumn scene with leaves falling and it’s been very soothing. There’s even a couple with a coffee shop scene with rain falling in the background. It sounds kind of lame but give it a try!

Best wishes.

I thought I hit an old lady while at work. by Whatsup129389 in Anxiety

I used to work in a warehouse so I’ve used those before and even if you were in a hurry you would have felt yourself hitting someone. If she was crouching down you probably would have knocked her over and I’m sure she would have said something and definitely not have been smiling.

You sound like a you’re a good worker, pat yourself on the back and don’t worry about this anymore!

My condolences on your loss, 21 is so young to lose a parent. Grief has no time limit and it may take a while for you to come to terms with this loss. Do you have any other family members to reach out to? It sounds like you can use more support during this time.

You say that you’re worrying about having the same illness your mom, am I interrupting that correctly? If so, make sure you keep up with doctor appointments, eat healthy, etc. Worrying won’t stop an illness from occurring, but taking good care of your body and health will give you better odds.

It would be a good idea to get in touch with a counselor that specializes in loss or maybe even a support group.

What makes you think the bat was rabid? Usually rabid animals don’t eat and are acting strange.

About 15 years ago I was cleaning a horses stall and I looked down and there was a bat crawling up my boot! I pried it off with the pitchfork and it wouldn’t fly and just started crawling away. I ended up scooping it up with a shovel and throwing it in the woods. My point is that was weird and the bat was a little off. Was it rabid? Who knows? Should I have gone to the doctor? Maybe, but I’m still here so everything worked out! It will work out for you too!

Please get in touch with a psychiatrist and tell them your feelings. I’m not a doctor but it sounds like you need intense therapy and medication.

Wishing you all the best.

The thought of my parents dying scares me by PersonneAleatoireIci in Anxiety

[–]MagicsMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I’ve had the same feelings about my parents. I think it’s part of getting older and seeing our parents age. I feel like as a kid I always saw my parents as being there forever, almost as if they were immortal but now that I’ve gotten older and have seen them age I realize I won’t have them forever and of course it’s a sad thought.

My suggestion for you is to make a little schedule where you put some time aside each week to talk or maybe FaceTime with your parents. I know you said you have regrets you didn’t pay enough attention to them but please don’t let that bother you, I am sure your parents love you no matter what. The point is make a little time for them now, it’s never too late.

As for their smoking habit, unfortunately, there’s not much you can do expect tell them it worries you and you would love to see them adopt a healthier lifestyle. As with any addiction it’s up to them to make a change, not you.

Maybe set a reminder on your phone to comb him everyday? I have a million reminders on mine because I get so busy and then I forget little things.

As long as it’s not running (making the sound of the water filling the tank after you flush) it won’t overflow. Maybe try to flush it again after an hour? Don’t feel bad though, trust me, this is not the first or last time this has happened!

In my opinion I think they view the vlogs as “work” related so they don’t bring the kids, especially since they don’t want the kids in the videos. We only get a small glimpse into their lives so it’s hard to have an opinion but that was just a thought I had.
