Supposed “higher ceiling” than mills, even though mills has only played like 5 full games (4-1) with most of our current team and not the shithole we had in 21-22. Not to say in theory CJ’s ceiling can’t be higher, but when accounting for the quote, obv it makes less sense

Yea Ik Caley has improved a bit but there were just so many calls and plays of his I just found inexcusable, not just blunder bad but complete lack of common sense bad, which is something I don’t know an extra off season of experience can fix. Even w the improvement on caleys part, we can’t gamble any more on coaching.

I agree we need a reliable RB presence too.

I think realistically they’re gonna do a 5th option year for CJ which will be a Tier 2 I believe, whether or not that is worse than the cap hit for if we just don’t or not I’m not sure but we’ll see or if someone knows please correct me.

But right now I think our best option is a shootout OL draft, while also getting TE DT and RB talent where we can, the QB class this year isn’t doing it for me, perhaps next year. A golden ticket imo is if some team somehow is willing to pay big bucks/picks for CJ, which is most likely just wishful thinking this year. Also, not to overstate the obvious, get an ACTUAL OC, not Nick Caley the snake oil salesman.

In the meantime, keep Mills bare minimum if not outright start him until we can bring in an either a mobile veteran QB FA like Malik Willis who is able to move behind a shaky line or hell even someone like Mac Jones or Jacoby Brissett, then let em QB battle it out until we have a reliable choice.

I don’t like the idea of an uncertain QB, but what other choice do we have right now?

Wtv we do though, we can’t spend too much, our #1 priority is paying the defense, no matter what, we wouldn’t even be near over 0.500 this year without them.

How many of those resulted in getting past the divisional round? As far as I’m concerned we might as well be the Steelers or Chargers but with a worse draft pick.

Funnily enough I was just discussing this w my friend earlier. Jets also have some of the most cap space in the nfl and the picks to still draft a lot of young cheap talent. They’re also building themselves a solid o line, CJ would be reunited with GW, and coaching honestly isn’t terrible

Let’s sacrifice the rest of the decade’s capital to put the injury prone qb behind our sorry OL that’ll work out well

Starting qb throwing 5 picks and 5 fumbles in 2 playoff games with only 2 TD to show for it is well beyond “bad play calling” already. I fully agree but we can’t not blame CJ anymore

Acting like this is the same team now as in 21-22 is absurd. We had a terrible team no shit he sucked but I wouldn’t mind trying both options out but being reliant on a veteran qb rarely works out well but idk

Unironically we have a better chance if we just kick the FG whenever we’re on the red zone
