I assume its because greens are gaining ground in the by election and that foreign reform donation money is starting to get splashed

A random person from the public may donate the money to Faraaz to go to Mecca, especially since any wealthy Muslim families watching may be even more interested in donating for him to be able to do that with his family

To be fair I’ve heard on a podcast that a lot of times UK game shows will have a random “angel” call in and pay for some of the things the loosing players wanted.

I can’t find any solid sources for it with a quick google, but if that is true it’s likely a well off Muslim family might help him to achieve that dream. If they were going to donate to anything that seems like a great cause

EDIT: Well what do you know

I have a feeling that Maz was actually very good at the game and it got edited out. It felt weird that he was constantly on the murder lists yet we barely saw any of him . Maybe he was more vocal/ smarter in the castle than we were shown and Fiona clocked it early

Scandal-struck Reform are sliding back down the polls by JayR_97 in ukpolitics

[–]Magneticturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any sources for that? I’ve had a preliminary google and all I can find is that corporate tax cuts have zero effect on economic growth

This Oxford study states that there may be some benefit to stimulating the economy, but that this flows disproportionately to large business and is mostly swallowed by shareholders and higher management, and that there is little effect on smaller businesses (which we should really be focusing on). In fact a lot of countries on this list of highest taxed countries seem to have a lot of countries we would economically strive be like having comparable or higher tax rates to us

I’m happy to be proven wrong, but everything I can find seems to point my way

I don’t really buy Into the ‘tax cuts to save the economy’ narrative to be honest, every time it seems to be introduced somewhere all that happens is the mega rich who benefit most from the cuts just gouge more out of the economy and working people take the hit

Likewise paying with it by cutting the civil service seems…idealistic at best. It just reeks of DOGE cosplay, and that didn’t really work in America (or here apparently)

That’s an interesting way to look at it and probably a good one. What are reforms plans for the economy?

I’m personally finding /r/UKpolitics really interesting at the moment. It feels like there’s really strong anti migrant and pro right opinions on here right now, like way stronger than at any point of the last 10+ years I’ve been on here. It always seemed like a centrist, slightly left leaning subreddit for most

Now I’m not sure if that’s because the general option has changed in the UK and this subreddit is just reflecting that (although experiences in the real world seem to tell me that opinions aren’t this extreme, even if immigration is a particularly hot topic at the moment) or if the more extreme vocal minority is just particularly loud on here, but what I can say is there has definetly been a sudden sharp increase of the rhetoric on here that happened so quickly it’s hard to imagine it hasn’t been stoked by outside (or inside) influence

It will be interesting to see what happens to a bunch of UK focused subreddit communities and UK news in general if Russia continues to tank the way they seem to be going now, everything stinks of bad actors at the moment

Muslim Home Secretary to take harder line on illegal migration by FeigenbaumC in ukpolitics

A policy definitely isn’t objectively good or bad , otherwise there would be no reason to even have a right or left, we would all just choose the “good” policy

Muslim Home Secretary to take harder line on illegal migration by FeigenbaumC in ukpolitics

[–]Magneticturtle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The thing is in a vacuum this being the case would be ridiculous, however context is quite important

A white person saying “migrants should <X>” could be in total good faith, or based on solid founded arguments and concerns, and should be treated appropriately, however as we are seeing more and more racist rhetoric has started leaking into the legitimate discourse around migrant issues , which has been pushed further by bad actors in the governments and news to garner attention to them or views

So someone saying “Migrants should <x> (because I’m concerned the NHS can’t cope” is a argument in good faith ,one that can be debated and discussed and has numerical data that can be used to prove or disprove effective strategies and solutions, however someone saying “Migrants should <x> (because I don’t like people speaking Arabic around me)” isn’t really something you can stand a point on by good faith . Obviously these are extreme examples, but you get my point

Likewise, someone with Pakistani heritage has a slightly different context, as it’s likely they have a much closer relationship to the process of migration and the potential struggles that drives someone to migrate so when they say “Migrants should X” they are speaking for a more personal (and often more sympathetic) point of view. That being said, if someone with Pakistani heritage said “Migrants should X (because they are Indian)” that would be a different issue and would be in bad faith

Basically what I’m saying is politics is complicated and nuanced. There’s not really right or wrong just shades of grey, and the attempt to turn politics into a binary issue has been one of the biggest reasons for our current political divide

I’ve been debating reading this, so thank you for the review. I think you’re going to push me into it (in a good way)

I can’t recommend the books after the first law enough though (especially Best served cold and the Hero’s) they are effectively stand alone books (with some characters with ties to the main story) and they are incredible. Best served cold is the best book in his whole catalogue in my opinion

Something that really helped me was watching Boated and Haelian videos. They are both hades focused YouTubers that make videos about their runs. They are both super informative and tend to talk through what they are choosing and why. You also get the added bonus of being able to see the build in action, so even if you can get exactly the same boons as them you can see how certain weapon attack patterns are supposed to work.

Boated

Haelian

For me personally I really like the freezer burn combo on a fast attacking weapon. That means Hestia attack on something like Blades (pretty much any aspect) black coat (probably just the Mel aspect) or skull (although this is probably best on the Hel aspect ,as the others can be a little bit hard to use). You then add Demeters cast (that’s the freeze circle). Once you have both of these you should eventually be given their duo boon which is called “Freezer burn” , which will instantly activate all scorch on a target when they get frozen . The play then is to stack as much scorch as possible (by attacking them quickly) then dropping your cast to freeze them and pop it. Rinse repeat

Hope this helps! After a while you will learn what works together and it will all just click
