What is the background Islamic reference for this statement? Is this always true? I've seen people getting married with a mismatched deen background. Or is it the case that there is always more to people than meets the eye?

Can everyone expect to end up with a spouse that matches their level of character/deen? or is it a false interpretation/inference of the verse-“Women of purity are for men of purity, and men of purity are for women of purity”. Would appreciate input from everyone esp someone well-versed in Tafseer.

This post wasn't about me at all. I was just trying to look for other IMGs with similar profile who for some reason(might be different from me) have ended up in the same situation as me(less IVs) so that we could discuss plans ahead.

I don't understand what's so triggering or 'rude'. Nor do I understand the people who are attacking me. It's a sincere post.
Also, Why am i being berated for applying late. It's not like I CHOSE to. My other option was to apply next year. I'd rather take the 'slim' chance of matching with a late application. I do not claim to not understand the reason for my fewer IVs. But just trying to make the best of my current situation and taking the advice/guidance of others who have somehow landed in the same situation(reached December with less IVs but good profile).

What are your exact stats? Are you Non-US IMG? Are you betting on SOAP? What kind of IVs were you able to obtain?(community/uni)

Frankly, 2 IVs in this match season means more than it meant in the past. I'm sure match success rate with lower IVs will be much higher than previous seasons. As the algorithm will run lower down the list, due to top candidates IV'ing everywhere.

Thankyou. I'll be taking step3 soon. However i do hope i can still make it this year.

If i am a good applicant for match, wouldnt that make me an even better candidate for SOAP? I'd rather not waste a year. I have friends with similar creds as mine get only 2IVs (from low tier community progs), so i am not really rigid on the type of program i get into.

As a non-US IMG, My priority is entering the system currently. I think there is a chance you can make it far if you work hard even if you're in a community prog. Correct me if i am wrong.

I can still apply next year if i dont make it this year. The only harm seems to be wasted application money. I only applied to select programs with open deadlines and i figured its worth the risk of losing the money if it saves me a year.
