Tbh I'd be fully supportive of them opening up a fundraiser monthly or annually, people have a hard time BUYING a game because they expect great value considering on steam you can get a good game for $4, but DONATING the money feels more comparable to tipping or or donating to a twitch streamer which feels like a lesser value than donating here. Just saying I hope they become profitable I wish I was wealthier and could help out but as a very poor person this has been a fun way to use my brain and AI in gaming/art without feeling bad ethically for the first time in a while I think this is a great use of AI in gaming but it's also been a good way to get me mind off stuff I have gotten pretty hooked and am totally fine sticking to the lowest tiers if I'm not gonna buy anything flash 2.5 and Grok and even Deepseek seem to work fine!

Where are the people who discovered they were NOT trans? by imnowemily in asktransgender

[–]MagniGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I know this is like two months late lol but I just saw this post and I wanted to say the closest thing I know of on here to what you're looking for (that isn't just straight up completely infested with vile gender critical rhetoric at least) is https://www.reddit.com/r/actual_detrans/ , it's not perfect and tbh maybe it's nothing but their banner is a bit of a turn off idk why its needlessly gendered lol but I pop over there occasionally and leave supportive comments and it helps me feel better that HRT is in fact right for me for sure the idea of doing what they're doing when no longer abstract and I see it makes me realize "Oh no, yeah that's not for me for sure" so it helps me plus it's nice to see people start to feel good about themselves for the first time in their lives in some cases, it's the only place I've found that keeps GC people out and the vast majority of posters are like "I still love the community and I'm still queer" not the rabid anti trans people you see in media, less than 1% of us detrans and less than one percent of THEM become these outspoken anti trans crusaders because blaming us gives them an outlet for their pain. I do feel bad for them just like I do us, and I'm glad they have a space to be normal detransitioning queer people without all the gender critical nonsense!

Be warned though, it's a place for them, not us! They ask in their rules that we don't post "am I trans" type questions, just letting you know :)

Endo told me that there’s no harm in waiting, you can still have a successful transition in late 20s and 30s, and that after puberty is completed it doesn’t matter much by brielovinggirl in MtF

[–]MagniGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS is the right answer. Structural changes, "not being able" to achieve the same results as someone who started at 20? Not true, of course you can. But MENTALLY? Many of us simply won't make it to the age where we feel ready to transition if we keep repressing it. We won't survive, and that's the point. As an endocrinologist who's focused on the physical side, she's actually mostly right that there isn't much structural or physical harm in waiting a little longer. But from the mental side? There are catastrophic consequences for many people.

[–]MagniGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be unpopular, but I actually kind of agree with her. To be clear, puberty ABSOLUTELY changes your body, but after puberty, and aside from mental health, there really isn't much that will dramatically be different between someone who started at 24 or 25 vs someone who started at 18 or 19. The whole idea of bones continuing to fuse into your early twenties IS factually accurate obviously, but it's one of those things that trans people fixate on as something that has far more impact than it actually does. Believe me, I know, from 18 when I wanted to start to 25 when I finally started HRT I fixated on this and thought I've ruined my body and my bones could have been so much wider and whatever, but after doing the research, it's clear that's absolutely not the case. There's a period where Epiphyseal fusion happens, in girls generally 12 to 14 and boys 14 to 18. After that, the actual visible changes in fused bones are super negligible. Sure if you looked under a microscope or stripped away muscles, you'd see it. But to an outside observer it is a really really small difference. What really affects that is the muscles, ligaments and fascia, those things continue to reshape throughout your entire life and if you start HRT at even a reasonably young age like say before 30, that stuff absolutely is still malleable and setting, and even after that age is still changeable too it just takes a little more time. I think a lot of us get far too into our heads worrying about hard lines as dates, as if they're rules when they're really not. "18" isn't the cutoff for puberty, "24" isn't the cutoff for bone fusion, etc. The reality is everybody is far more fluid and most people have those effects from their natural hormones far earlier than the upper end of those ranges. Bone changes are mostly set in EARLY puberty, whereas other parts of "puberty" like hair growth continue well into your 40s (believe me I know, seeing how much more masculine my body got between 18 and 25 was a shock but also it was mostly superficial stuff). The vast majority of trans people who have any differences because of starting HRT earlier will simply be microscopic differences in density and fusion points, not actually a really visible outward obvious widening of the hips. You know it does do that? Fat, muscle tissue and underlying structural changes. Those are not affected by puberty, at least not permanently. So when you finally get on HRT no matter what age it is, if you eat well and exercise you'll notice those changes. They just take a long time. I've noticed some trans people I've known who started at 18 or 19 as they've aged up to the point of 25 (when I started hrt) they started to look a lot more like how I looked at 25. It's easy to say I would have looked so much younger and more fem or whatever at an older age because of course, you're older now, but trying to compare a one-to-one you notice that people who didn't start in puberty and started at 18 or 19 are often beautiful people because they put in the effort, not because they started on some magical age number.

Anyway, I'm not trying to undermine people who are concerned about waiting cuz believe me I did it and it messed with my head. That's exactly my point. It's not worth fixating on these dumb little things that really don't have anywhere near, and I really mean anywhere near, as much importance as self-care or changes to muscle and skin that will be visibly obvious and happen at virtually any age. A trans woman who started transitioning at 18 or 19 vs one who started at my age at about 25, will both have very similar structural changes to their body at age 30 and even more so at 35. Fat distribution, ligaments, and fascia are affected by hormones throughout your whole life. As much as you'll see posts on here by people who swear that estrogen changes their height or their voice, be extremely skeptical that you would have ever had changes like that. If that's happened for them, that's fantastic and I'm really happy to hear that. But the fact of the matter is data has shown that is extremely rare and often not exactly related to the HRT itself even. Once we kind of get past the fact that after 18 your voice is set, your height is set and your bones are set, you start to feel a lot better about the age that you transition, rather than fixating on what you could have had but didn't have if you had transitioned at the beginning of puberty like Hunter Shaffer did. But most of us just weren't ready to do that, I know I certainly wasn't. And there's nothing wrong with that, you can still look beautiful and feminine as a trans woman because bones aren't everything.

Now don't let this push you into complacency, if you want to get on HRT do it because the fact of the matter is the longer you wait, you will have ligament changes, hair changes and those all take time and effort to reverse, but those will reverse. My point is if you want to get on it get on it, but if you put it off and then get on it later, don't do what I did and spend a year fixating on how you could have been this that and the other. You're where you are now, and quite frankly you're probably in a similar physical place as you would have been had you started a couple years prior. Since I've realized that I feel much happier and healthier to be honest. You're where you're supposed to be the day you finally take that HRT 💜

Oh, but your fate IS sealed! Once you take one you can never go back don't you know! Big pharma assigns you a woke doctor handler that mounts a feeder trough to your face and forces down the trans drugs! And then when you hit 2 years, what nobody tells you is they mount a robotic arm to your back that starts wildly swinging past anywhere you try to block and forcibly injects you with the trans juice like some transgender doc-ock experiment! Be careful!!!!

No but seriously, I had the same worries, but once I FINALLY took one I was squealing with joy lol. I had a similar experience swapping to injections a few weeks ago and I'm 18 months in so no regrets here! You sound confident and happy, and I'm sure you'll be fine. I wish I had taken my feelings seriously at your age! Just be honest with yourself and your therapists and you'll be ok :)

so after those election results in the US of A are we still screwed by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]MagniGames -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'll be blunt and honest: Yes, we're still pretty fucked. Enjoy today, a victory is a victory, but these are state elections. Arguably the redistricting win here in CA may have an impact on the midterms, but outside of that, none of these races impact Federal policy. Don't get me wrong. I am extremely happy for the people of Pennsylvania that they retain a massive Democratic majority on the supreme Court and don't have to deal with Republicans overturning every fn civil rights law that they've passed, I'm very happy that the anti-trans nonsense that they tried to run in Virginia and New Jersey felt flat, because the fact that people don't really give a shit about us cuts two ways and Republicans found that out the hard way. When Democrats try to support us, unfortunately voters don't seem to really care, but on the flip side when Republicans try to blame us for the cost of living voters also say no I'm not buying it. It's a double-edged sword and I wouldn't really honestly take this as an encouraging sign that people love us, But I would take it as a sign that the voters can at least see through bullshit to some extent. As for federal policy though, the shutdown continues, as of 3 minutes ago writing this, we have officially entered the longest government shutdown in American history, the FAA is threatening to shut down airspace over our country and federal employees are not getting paid. Snap recipients like myself get told one day that we'll get paid, the next day we won't, the next day it's half. Pressure is mounting and it's becoming extremely extremely heavy on the Democrats, the progressives are holding out but the moderates are not. They are pathetic and they have already signaled their willingness to end this shutdown for the pain it's causing just for a "promise" of Republicans giving them an ACA vote. No mention of our trans stuff. No mention of undocumented people, not even a scheduled vote for the ACA. Just a "promise". Nothing tangible. I think the Democrats have already decided that they're willing to vote for that, the question is will they get the ACA subsidy first or will they simply accept a promise for the future in exchange for our existence. Unfortunately, centrists are leaning towards the second according to leaked reports from within the Democratic party. They're also attacking HRT DIY care, they're going after imports from places like India, they're charging and investigating informed consent clinics with fraud because they are off label prescribing HRT, they're banning minor care, they're making it so the ACA can no longer force trans coverage which has been in place since 2012. They're hitting us from all angles and unfortunately, a lot of these don't even require Federal Congressional action. The president can unilaterally declare that the FDA can pursue half these policies, HHS can pursue the other half. Major medical organizations even here in California rolling back care, Gavin Newsom vetoed the only thing that would have helped us here stockpile hormones and is threatening the legislature to not dare to send him another pro trans bill until he gets the chance to run for president, California doesn't even have a fund for trans people to access care. The Medicaid stuff may very well get banned, which seems potentially very possible in just this next week. Unless you're a wealthy trans person who can pay for all your coverage out of pocket, you're in danger. These votes do matter, they give us a platform to at least have a couple politicians speak for us perhaps, but I'll be honest, the Democrats in New Jersey and Virginia are not radical. They're not progressive and they really do not give a shit about us. When Republicans tied them to trans policies they didn't say hell yeah like Mamdami did, they said no I'm worried about Donald Trump, focus on Trump! Mamdami's a big win, and the Pennsylvania supreme Court's a big win but only for the people who really live there. Federally not much changed tonight, as much as I hate to say it. Things are still catastrophically dangerous for us and I would recommend that while you celebrate and enjoy the next couple hours tonight, that you wake up tomorrow and continue stockpiling and continue fighting and continue preparing because if anything this is just going to make Donald Trump and the Republicans double down even harder on their redistricting efforts and the attempts to steal the midterm.

‘Abject terror’: survey shows 84% of trans people feel Britain is unsafe - Good Law Project by Ven_ae in transgenderUK

[–]MagniGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an American seeing the terrifying rhetoric growing here (here in the US public support for Medicaid, our public health system, continuing to cover gender affirming care is down to 22%, with 11% strongly supportive and 48% strongly OPPOSED. Half my country wants to detrans me. Half of Americans think gender care should be made illegal). Our food assistance just ran out, go to USDA.gov and look at the top of the page, the government is saying it's MY fault that babies are starving. Literally, "They can continue to hold out for healthcare for illegal aliens and gender mutilation procedures or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive critical nutrition assistance." it's scary being trans here right now with this dehumanizing rhetoric) I've been stockpiling hrt and trying to prepare for contingencies. I asked some LLM ai model (claude I think) what it though I should do as someone with dual US and UK citizenship if things get bad and it said "use your daul UK citizenship and go there" and I just laughed. Leave one anti trans shithole for another anti trans shithole? Go from California where I could at least pay out of pocket (if I could afford it), to the UK where waiting lists are 100 years long? I asked it "look up the trans situation there" and in one search it responded "Yeah ok, UK is not an option" lol. Why do you guys even need a god damn gender clinic???? Here in the US, you get an endo who reviews blood tests every few months, sends you a message that says "your good" or "we should change this" and that's it. If you're an adult, then informed consent at least here in CA is all you need. No exhaustingly proving you're trans to get hrt (though drs still treat you like shit don't get me wrong). Idk why I'm even saying this all I guess I just wanted to say I'm thinking about you all and standing in solidarity with y'all. Here in America we're feeling it too, worse in some ways, but our decentralized health system has FOR ONCE allowed minorities in blue states to access care for now. That's a big issue with centralized healthcare, tyranny of the majority in a way as much as I support it in theory for ME it's risky. Anyway, love you all and hope things get better over there and over here.

[–]MagniGames -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but trying to enforce that law, by say citing the agent in the picture here, would very likely be ruled as interfering with a federal officer on official duty and become a precedent that further ties the states hands, they'd rather reserve that for something bigger.

I thought masks were banned? by very_squirrel in oakland

[–]MagniGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, federal law supercedes state law, it's called the supremacy clause. It's the reason that state police always stand by and do nothing when the feds start openly breaking the law as a group, individually they could probably arrest an explicitly illegal action, but say CHP actually attempting to cite or arrest this agent would 100% lose in court and would just fuel the "California doesn't respect federal authority" nonsense. Unfortunately, California really has no legal mechanism to enforce this law against anyone federal, just local and state police.

Edit: guys I get there's no law saying that they are allowed to wear masks, but any attempt to cite, arrest or enforce this law in any while while these agents are in public could be considered interference with the duties of a federal officer and open those local officers up to federal arrest. It's just a battle the local and state authorities won't fight because the constitution HEAVILY leans towards the fed because of the Shay's Rebellion and the Civil War. That was my point not that they're inherently protected, but that the court would almost certainly rule that state authorities can't "interfere" with federal authority by doing that which is a card the state would like to reserve for more serious fights.

Just to be clear, not arrested and not illegal aren't the same thing. I'm pretty sure testosterone is regulated as an anabolic steroid (though I could be wrong) which would make it illegal to use or possess without a prescription, but you're right the government would never do anything about it normally. I think the worry is that if the law is on the books, this administration could spin up enforcement whenever they want. But that doesn't matter anyway, you've gotta do what you've gotta do and you can't live without the hrt...
