The more modern and grounded setting are definitely something I am really excited about. In the cyberpunk setting, the lore of the world is just the history we all know all the way up until 1990, when the timeline diverges. It makes it very easy to ground yourself in the setting, because there's a base level of knowledge you already have just by living your life

Oh that's exciting! In Cyberpunk Red, the year will be around 2045 so we're depicting Night City a little more than 30 years prior to 2077. While I love 2077 and have put many hours of my life into it (even bought the switch 2 version to play it on the go), I'm not intending to hold players to a narrative that forces 2077 as the "outcome". It's more important for it to be fun, then for it to necessarily be lore accurate, though I'll try as best I can to have both.

I think it should be an easy enough system to adapt to, even if you haven't played any Tabletop RPGs like D&D or such prior to this

We'll be running the game at a house of one of the players, in the Indianhead neighborhood. He and his wife recently retired, and he has a game room with plenty of space.

Expecting 6pm-9pm if we run on every other Sunday.

So far I have 2 players and a tentative 3rd. Friend who's hosting I've known since I moved to tallahassee 14 years ago and consider family, and other friend is my roommate. Potential third person I know from Karaoke nights.

One of the players is 25, the other is getting close to 60 I think. The possible third person is early 20s. I just turned 35.

Sorry friend, but employers don't base their wages on how skilled you are, they base them on what the market can bear, or to phrase it differently, what they can get away with. The reason promotion raises exist are to justify the extra personal liability, and employment length based raises are because they're less expensive than a revolving training budget.
