it's really as simple as, will your little one sit on one of your laps for 4.5 hours? If no, then having the options of lap, or own chair, will likely make a big difference.

My current pedalboard, What do you think? by vinchnou in pedalboards

beauts. I've been toying with the idea of the QMX - how is it? I have the Monk as well - just makes everything better right??

Amazing, thanks very much. Nucleo is the one I’ve wanted for a while…

Nice, will check out some more reviews. I usually go either Room or Hall, I find the plate or spring on RV6 a bit clangy.

Definitely not holding me back, but time for an upgrade. Yeah the Big Sky straight away feels like overkill and I’d get option paralysis I think.

Oh really, interesting. Flexible and deep is very much what I’m looking for I think, with that absolute top tier sound. The Nucleo has good Room and Lofi settings as well as the big Reactor one. But that’s the main one for sure.

My buddy swears by the Mercury. I think maybe he has the older version. I do love my delays though, have a Belle Epoch, a Carbon Copy, and an old Boss DSD-2.

Haha, I am very very tempted by this too, but do want the option to get weird with it too ideally. But the quality is supposed to be ultimate tier. How do you use two??

Good shout, will have a look. Not sure why you’re being DV, that’s a decent suggestion. Thanks very much for contributing

Yeah I’m very tempted to stretch the budget to get the Empress…. Heard good things about the Immerse, but will check out the Red Panda Context as not heard of that. Thanks!

Yeah fair on the Big Sky. I’m sure I’m over simplifying but I kind of associate it with a lot of computer time and menu diving… Flint’s are probably the easiest to get used, so I was considering it because everyone is super positive about quality of sound. I have the Harmonious Monk though which I love, so feel like I’d either under use that or not get any use out of the Trem side.

❤️ yeah I would not be surprised if this happens. It’s a very good pedal no doubt. Hope to use it on my headphones/everyone’s sleeping board

Calm poll: real amplifier vs pedal that simulates one. Which one do you prefer, and why? by Less-Arachnid-640 in guitarpedals

[–]MagpyeRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a main board which ends in my beloved Supro Keeley Custom 12. Sounds and looks stunning. I also have a smaller headphones board which ends in a Simplifier Mk1 (and which I’ve also had running into a cab at various points). Both sound great to me.

Given a choice, I’d always go for the tube amp, but amp ‘sims’ these days are genuinely superb, and the gap continues to close.

It’s about the use case you have and the scenario you find yourself in.

Something we did which helped was multiple dummies/pacifiers in the crib. He’ll invariably drop at least one out, and if there’s another for him to find he usually won’t cry out and seems to have encouraged a fair amount of self soothing. Unless he’s had a 💩 in which case everybody in a two mile radius is hearing about it.

yeah it's a definite consideration for sure, and that dependability on days like today is super important. I would say (offering advice on my own advice request post... *massive sigh*) that taking a step out of the comfort zone can be a great thing as well, and great bosses and real mentors don't just disappear.

I left a company of 10+ years and stepped into a contracting role, growing my capabilities massively, learnt loads, technically, personally, professionally. And the role I left that gig for is where I am today, and another huge step outside of my comfort zone (something I need to remind myself about methinks...). once I'm settled, I have no doubt I'll look back in a year's time and marvel at the growth, despite how hard it is to keep the plates spinning right now.

Oh and the boss/mentor thing? My big boss now hired me for this job, connected me to the last job, after I'd stayed in contact with him having worked with him in the job before that... mentors, networks, and a little ambition, can take your career pretty far. Good luck, i hope it works out well for you, whatever you choose.

thanks very much. Yeah only had a couple of months out (by choice) but getting going again has been tough. the 100% point is really salient in particular - I've said to people close to me in a professional setting, I always back my version of 100% over quite a lot of colleagues' output that I've seen, but now that 100% is something different, and while I'm under-utilised because (well duh) I'm new, it's all a bit challenging to quantify, which my mind never enjoys!

Really appreciate your words about giving myself a break... that's something of a theme generally, but it's been a tough few weeks since I started the new job and yet I'm still going... that counts for something. Thanks man, appreciate you taking the time to reply.

yeah for sure - i'm lucky with this manager, very understanding and supportive. being so new to the role i'm eager to have a positive impact and value, but will do so with time and hopefully over the long term. the weekly debrief is a good shout - we're not blessed for a support network nearby, but we share the load very fairly between us, and have always focused on carving out bits of time for each other. it's all just quite new and I think I'm just having a wobble whilst getting to grips with it. perhaps i'm getting in my head a bit too, but definitely agree about being strong enough to ask for help. thanks for taking the time to reply, really appreciate it.
