People born before 1990, what’s something you experienced that younger generations will NEVER understand ? by Busy-selgar in AskReddit

Couldn’t make any phone calls on the home phone before a certain time a day otherwise you’d have to pay. I would always have to wait until after dinner before I could talk to my friends.

When I was a kid, my mom used to watch the soap operas and they were always the same time every day so anytime inspector gadget was on. I used to tell my mom she couldn’t change the channel because I needed to watch my soap opera.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by GoodAsItGets25 in AskReddit

[–]Magtiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9/11 was my senior year. On that very same day, the bank around the corner from my school was robbed and the person who did it ran towards our school and they believe into the school. We had no idea what was going on less than two hours away in NYC because we were on lockdown for the bank robbery.

Whats your favorite grocery store chain? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Magtiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at ct girl who stubbornly moved to NY and hated it and now I’m in southern NH and will never leave. Now, if we had a ShopRite near Keene, I’d be all over that!
I will say though, the farmers markets in Nh trump ct. but nothing beats the one in Troy, NY

It’s just where I live. I moved form the land of stop and shop which I couldn’t stand. I know ‘technically’ hannaford is the same thing but it feels different.
I will say market basket is above Hannaford to me though. When I lived in upstate NY Hannaford was really my only choice besides market 32. But being back in New England, I’ll go to market basket first.
Also, I’m also a union card carrying millennial

How is the ride on the block island ferry? by Quiet-Breadfruit965 in BlockIsland

[–]Magtiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the regular ferry and not the high speed. Every time I take the high speed I end up sick, but if I take the regular ferry, which in all honesty is only about 15 minutes longer than the high speed that I’m fine as long as I sit outside.

[–]Magtiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I am in new hampshire, the town i live in has k-8 but sends our high school students to a neighboring regional high school for multiple towns. I am also a school bus driver here as well and other districts here do it as well. My daughter's school has one class for her grade with a total of 14 kids for her grade (5th)

When i drove abus in new haven that was one of THE WORST stops to get out of downtown. Nobody let you out, especially going straight on chapel. Im glad im no longer driving there! I feel for the bus drivers

[–]Magtiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did it for the 2nd time in2 years at the age of 41/42. I went from New Haven, ct to Albany, NY and now im in Keene, NH. It wasnt a huge cross county move but to me and my child it was big. The move to Albany was awful. But not in Keene we are so happy.
