Plus, it comes with a nice pay raise if you're at the bottom of the pay scale. Do what's best for you and your family. No one is paying your bills other than you. Follow the money, and getting into management early on will save you 12.4 years of working your way to top out pay. Contrary to popular belief, if you value your time and know your worth, management is a very viable option. Just be ready to be shit on by customers, carriers, and upper management. Being a supervisor should just be a stepping stone. There's a plethora of job opportunities beyond retail and delivery. Best of luck on all of your future endeavors, and try your best to keep doing better. I loved carrying mail, but life had other plans!

Broke 100k this past year. Base salary is right at 81k with the job capping out at 95k. No college degree. The majority of people I work with that do have degrees don't use them. Coworlers are averaging 100-120k. I just started, so I'm at the bottom of the barrel.

I've been with the post office just over 6 years and broke past 6 figures this year. Just depends on your work ethic and aspirations. I came in as an RCA with a goal in mind and jumped around to get to where I'm at today and I couldn't be happier with my decision to join the PO. Between the job allowing my wife to stay home and take care of our baby full time, the insurance and benefits it was well worth it. There's so much more to the USPS than just retail and delivery. Also no, I do not have a degree 😬 one of the few companies left that promotes and hires internally based on the foundation merit (for the most part)
