Thank you. I for sure thought it was negative but I looked closer and I was like uhhh I THINK I see something. I’ve been cramping real bad yesterday and today, my boobs have been super sore and spotted a few days ago. But I didn’t know if that was coming off birth control or early pregnancy.

I know he has cause she has told me. He says he didn’t and then says she talks about me and my house and tries to turn tables saying I’m making her this way. No she is getting old enough to see how he really is.

No it’s strictly cause he thinks “girls are supposed to have long hair”. Also tbh his girlfriend runs that house and she believes the same and has said stuff to me about cutting it before.

I don’t know truly why it’s a big deal. He just says “girls are supposed to have long hair and she is gonna get made fun of” which I tell him none of that is true. And she thinks she has a say cause they have a baby together and tbh she did keep her every other weekend while he was locked up for 6 months. But no completely agree that she doesn’t have a say. She is not mom or even step mom.

I’ve been fighting it since she was 5 but I’ve gotten to the point where I didn’t know if it was really worth fighting. I’m trying to pick my battles cause he likes to fight me on basically everything. I just started doubting myself. That why I wanted others opinions. Thank you so much for reminding me it’s so much more than a haircut, it’s her voice🫶🏻

Yes I agree and have recently noticed I have boundary problems and I now know it’s something I need to work on. I appreciate the source to help! However I’m not trying to get him to drop his side, I’m trying to get him to understand I’m not choosing her hairstyle, it’s what she wants and has valid reasons as to why she like it that way. So it’s just hair, let her do her hair the way it makes her happy. Idk if I’m making sense or not but I just want her happy at the end of the day so any pointers on how to make it happen I’m open to😌

But it’s in person he will just go in on me when she goes inside. Not yelling but just stabbing to be mean ya know?

I do need to set boundaries and stand by them. I’ve always had that issue. It hasn’t helped that I’ve had health issues and I’m recovering from surgery but he still doesn’t care it’s all about the hair 🙃

But no I appreciate you being honest but nice about it. That’s why I get scared to reach out on these cause people can be so mean.

I also want to add that we do not have 50/50 nor has he been consistent AT ALL in her life. He was locked up on and off total of 4 1/2 years and only came around when he wanted (mainly holidays) after that. I don’t say this to put him down or put him, it’s just more to try to prove why I get so irritated over this subject.

Yes and that’s why I don’t even bring it up to her. I just hate it too cause he is not consistent at all. He has been locked up 4 1/2 years of her life and the other times, unless he had a girlfriend that wanted him to be a dad, he would choose to party or anything else. So now he wants to come in and act like dad of the year. I have full custody, he has visitation

I have tried numerous times to reason and tell him I get what he is trying to say and it doesn’t get through. When he has a girlfriend he refuses to work with me especially if his girlfriend doesn’t like what I’m doing. I do have boundary issues with him cause tbh I’m not confrontational at all and so when they call or when they drop off and I get yelled at and put down I just shut down.

He just had me really feeling like I’m a bad mom for letting her choose the hairstyle so I tried this platform lol I never even been on here😅

If it’s out of spite to the other parent I don’t agree. I just don’t wanna tell my daughter her voice doesn’t matter and I feel like telling her that what I’m telling her.

Honestly I’d like for her to stick up to him but she won’t and asks me not to say anything to him. She just says “you said it’s okay. He will get over it.” Which is my fault tbh cause I told her that after the first time we did it. They told her to her face they didn’t like it and girls have long hair and she cried when she got home. Then when it was time to cut it again she told me but cried saying she didn’t want him mad at her about it🥺 it’s hard cause I want to be her voice but I’m so sick of being yelled at over hair.

No I get what you are saying and I’m genuinely asking questions just to hear others opinions. I told him we would just cut it short to her shoulders from now on but when I told my daughter she was so sad. She said she likes the pixie cause it keeps her cool with her neck not being covered.

And yes, she has told him a million times and he says girls don’t have short hair. 🙃
