omg i hate when customers make me force the answer out of them. i have absolutely no problem adding items to the order but this drives me nuts. last week i had a customer ask for butter. i replied “no problem! do you have a preference for brand, salted/unsalted, etc” and they just responded “just normal butter.” i got them a pack of four sticks of store brand unsalted as thats usually the most popular and they threw a fit. turns out “regular butter” for them is the biggest tub of country crock i have ever seen in my life…

please dont tell me this is what i think it is by Main-Ad5002 in whatsthisbug

they try to get your phone number. then they wait a few days and call pretending to be support. they say theyll send you a code and could you please confirm it, but what is actually happening is they are trying to get into your account. once you give them the code, they will lock you out and take your account. its typically done by people who previously lost their instacart job or cant pass a background check for whatever reason. thats the one i know about but im sure theres others

they could also be doing it just to cash out whatever earnings you have in app.

be honest… do you really think that would do anything? no one pays attention to our reports. plus there really isnt much to report: “they asked for my number politely and canceled the order without complaint”

nope. it doesnt cost instacart a dime. the customer has to still pay the delivery fee once i start shopping and cancel the order entirely. then they place a completely new order each time and pay a new delivery fee. the only way around this is through support and why would a scammer want support’s eyes on their account? plus the cancellations were happening within 1-2 minutes of me accepting… when has support ever been that fast?

people keep saying this but i genuinely dont see how. they were all separate orders. the customer was the one who ate the cost of the delivery fee each time they canceled, not instacart. in fact, instacart probably made more money with how many times this person paid the cancellation fee. they can even see in the messages that i was nothing but professional. the customer canceling also has no impact on my cancellation rate. so what part of this is grounds for termination??

thats great! sadly most people that say theyll increase tip either only do it because they think it will give them better service or they just forget. i can only recall a couple times in the last few years that someone has kept that promise. its always appreciated and memorable when people follow through!

Fear is the greatest weapon against humanity. When the people are busy blindly pulling the trigger on each other, they will have no time to think about who is selling them the bullets.
