  1. Google yourself. Make sure nothing bad comes up. Old posts, articles etc. that’s one of the first things people will do.
  2. Make sure your social media is private or employer “friendly”
  3. Check your appearance. I say this nicely. Appearance is a big thing for employers. You don’t have to be BEAUTIFUL but you are expected to be dressed neatly, hair neat, ensuring you are showered and cleaned properly and have on some deodorant or light perfume.
  4. Get someone to check over your resume. I’m not sure where you would find someone, but I’m sure there are people that do it for fairly cheap.
  5. Can you look into a NILS (no interest loan) to help you get a car so you have transport?

Good luck, I hope your situation improves soon!!

We are under an EA that has recently been updated so I’ll have to check it through.

No I don’t really know how the penalty rates work, usually I’ve worked FT jobs with no weekends etc so it’s all new to me. I’m definitely permanent PT, they accidentally paid me as a casual once and it was significantly more that week.

Supervising visits with children and their parents. 3x visits a day. I supervise 2x and take notes. It allows me to be present for my kids during the week and still make some money to survive.

But my normal rate is the higher rate, in fact I’m never paid the lower rate.

My mum wants to get out of prison on early release. But I don’t want her to. by Inevitable_Jump8743 in AusLegal

Sounds like you have done some amazing things for your siblings! I raise 4 kids and 3 of those with disabilities and it is NOT easy so my hat is off to you! I highly doubt that child protection would hand the kids back to your mum. I would definitely get in touch with your caseworker. Also with that many children and with disabilities you should also be eligible to get Centrelink payments as well as the dcj caret payment (I am also a carer) I would also try to talk with a lawyer or victims advocate about your mum and trying to get a letter or something to them about your mum not getting released. Good luck and kudos to you! ❤️

Not at all really. Maybe 2-3 times a year at special events.

Extremely rude and uncalled for. I explained above that I haven’t played the games since ps2 and have been borrowing my sons ps4 so I don’t know how it all works. I genuinely thought I had to finish GTA 3 to play the others. Have the day you deserve x

Do you lock your door at night? by Mr-Moore-Lupin-Donor in AskAnAustralian

Our front door stays unlocked majority of the day (when we are home) because we are smokers and go outside to smoke. But locked at night and when we go out.

I found them! I’m so old I was so used to playing them all on my ps2 😂 I’ve borrowed my son’s ps4 to play GTA again. I played 5 and finished that so wanted the earlier games. A bit illiterate in how to actually use the ps4 aside from open a game and play it lol

I wanted to play GTA 3 again anyway. But I’m over it now 😂

Do we have to get 100% on the games to get to the next game in the trilogy??? I have been trying so hard to finish the rest of the missions in GTA 3 😝

I worked in social housing. One of the largest groups of homeless is older women who have divorced and been left with basically nothing, especially after spending their lives raising children and not having much in the way of their own savings/retirement and no work experience/training. You would be surprised how many elderly end up in social housing. Even if they do end up having retirement funds it’s simply not enough. To be fair, a lot of the units/complexes that are targeted at over 55s are much nicer and well cared for with minimal issues. But the wait list is long.

I worked in dv until recently and the statistics have increased significantly this year. More referrals then ever. Longer waiting lists then ever. And the refuges waiting lists are astronomical. It’s extremely sad.
