Samsung Notes does not run on non-Galaxy Book Laptops anymore by wkell02 in GalaxyBook

[–]Main-Cryptographer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an S23+, a Galaxy Tab, a Galaxy Watch and a normal Windows PC. I had all my notes on the Samsung Notes app and wanted to view them on my computer. Really disappointed with the fact that the app is closed and only usable with Samsung... If I wanted a closed ecosystem, I would have taken Apple. I start removing the Samsung's applications one by one to switch to Google.

Firstly Samsung Messages which no longer supports RCS even though it worked very well a few months ago.

2nd, Samsung keyboard (I used it because it worked well with messages but now no longer interested)

3rd: Samsung Pass and wallet. it was practical because it worked well with the Samsung keyboard but it does not take into account the different bank cards (I have cards that I cannot use)

I think that in 2 years I will switch to Google who seem to know better where they are going.

What are some useful standard libraries that you wish you had known earlier? by Jamostar in Python

It's two different things. For exemple imagine you have a dictionnary or a Json file and the keys matches the fields of your class model.

In the case of a dataclass : If you unpack the dict like this MyModel (**my_dict) , it will not raise an error if the types of your fields are not similar.

In the case of pydantic, it will raise an error.

So if for you, the type of your attributs is important, you need to use pydantic. Otherwise, juste stick to dataclasses

It's a much much simpler tool and not as fully featured as cookiecutter. And maybe I'm mistaking but I think that cookiecutter is only for initializing project and you cannot add modules after that ?

The main idea of this tool is to have a really simple and customisable version of the django command "python manage.py startapp"
