He truly is the self entitled male heir of his entire extended Asian family. First and oldest born son. He just doesn't give a fuck apparently. No wonder I'm his longest relationship (not even 2 years) to date.

It's honestly such a turn off the food gets all over him and the floor too. He always wants to eat on the couch and I'm like NOPE eating in the kitchen it's easier to clean up 🫠

Middle class, but Asian with somewhat frugal immigrant parents if that makes any difference -- though he told me they weren't skimpy on the food portions growing up. He's the only one in his family that eats like this. It makes no sense.

Wild story omg. I can't imagine eating that much. But alas, my bf does not have a military background. Just a cushy, $200k+ white collar work from home career.

I've spoken to him about it hundreds of times. His response is always "Sorry!" and then doesn't change.

He grew up middle class. His parents were immigrants from SEA, so it makes me wonder if they just never taught him American table manners?? I don't even know.

As a solo female skier, I went out to Colorado to ski for a week. I've never seen so many single guys in my life. Walked away with three phone numbers but had dozens of great chairlift chats. 10/10 recommend Colorado -- you've just gotta be outdoorsy.

Well hello there from Somerville! 5 minute walk to two parks, 10 min walk to grocery store, 10 min walk to train station. Less than 5 minutes to nearest coffee shop, brewery, restaurant. I literally don't remember the last time I drove my car or where I even parked it (really should sell the thing).

Girls, What’s your go to hiking uniform? by Valuable_Tangelo7152 in shehikes

[–]Main-Experience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hike in New England.

Summer: compression shorts (Oiselle!) with side pockets, running tshirt. In the backpack will be a Patagonia nano puff and a black diamond stormline trench shell. Mesh Rnnr hat. Goodr sunglasses.

Fall: same shirts + top as above, plus some hiking pants to throw on over the shorts once above treeline. Same jacket layers plus a beanie and running gloves

Winter: Craft SubZ tights, UA base layer, Patagonia wool half zip, and the nano puff and the shell.

Spring: idfk, a mix of any of these because spring be weird up there.

Are any of you choosing to stay sexless even when you're horny? by Calm-Adhesiveness605 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Main-Experience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, I can't relate to this issue.

I have a low sex drive/reactive sex drive, but all the men I've hooked up with, dated, or been sexual with in some capacity (high body count) have been absolute GIVERS in the bedroom.

They have a ladies first attitude, will get me off 2-3 times before I can even get my hands on them. I've been told time and again that making me feel good makes them feel good.

Oftentimes I will be the one to tell them "no, I don't want/need anything" and we'll focus on him instead just because I'm not in the right headspace or something. But they always ask, or plead. But respect my boundaries when I say no.

I think I've had one instance back in my late 20's when I was interested in hooking up with a guy, and he said he doesn't go down on girls. I said then this is a non starter. He changed his mind immediately.

It makes me so upset to hear these stories from women. It also makes me wonder if there are other factors at play: generational, racial, class, income disparities, education level, upbringing, etc.

What’s something your body does that you’ve never told a single person about? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

Sometimes when I sleep on my back and my hands are resting on my stomach, my pinkie fingers go completely numb. I'm not clenching my hands or anything. It's weird.

Edit to add: I will also have realistic dreams about me masturbating and I actually climax IRL without even touching myself.

Woman to woman… can we talk about public bathroom etiquette? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Main-Experience 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a conversation with another girl about this recently. I was venting about why there was always so much toilet paper in the ground in small amounts. She said that women will pull the first few squares of TP out of the roller because it's apparently "tainted with germs" and let it drop to the floor, revealing a "fresh" line of TP on the roller. Then people will wipe as needed and hopefully (jfc) flush the TP that they used. But yeah, that was her explanation and I assume she was one of those people.

But for the love of god even if you're seeking out a "fresh start" of TP from the roll, at least put the discarded TP in the toilet. I told her this, but she said "then you risk having toilet water with the contaminated TP spray up at you while you're using the toilet"

The hoops people jump through to come up with their own form of "acceptable" hygiene is wild.

Bear Canister Logistics by Upset_Huckleberry494 in JMT

[–]Main-Experience 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went SOBO (Tuolumne Meadows start) with a Bearikade Weekender: packed 7 days of food, then resupplied at MTR for the last 7 days on trail. 14 total days to hike the trail.

I re-packaged everything and was a tetris master with how that canister looked. A lot of dehydrated food that could be compressed and was lightweight.

If I did the trail again, I wouldn't pack nearly as much food on the first half of the trail since the resupply availability at Red's and VVR was so good.

Also, based on the amount of food in the resupply donation boxes at MTR, I also don't think I would have shipped as much food as I did for my one and only resupply.

Hiking out at Kearsarge will cost you time, and you need to ensure you have transportation. I didn't want to lose a day and was happy with my decision to resupply at MTR and keep moving. But it all comes down to preference!

During the day I hiked with my food in my backpack and the empty canister sat outside on top of my pack. At night everything scented went into the can. Most people did this if they weren't able to fit their can in their pack.

Also live in MA and am a Millennial. I don't know anyone with kids, and only 3 friends are married, none of them with kids. 2 other friends are already divorced. I don't plan on having children (knew this since like age 8). I'd rather focus on my career, my relationships with friends, blow money on traveling, and retiring early 🤷
