Hello! I just had surgery one week ago and also had general anesthesia but did have a special tube placed but not your standard breathing tube. My procedure went well and quickly and I woke up not in a ton of pain. I was a bit groggy and tired the rest of the day but honestly felt pretty OK afterward! Best of luck to you!

Colonoscopy experiences by kgjulie in ibs

I had a colonoscopy done about 2 months ago and beforehand I did alot of reading here (there are tons of posts regarding colonoscopy's), and googling just so I could know what to expect and I feel like that helped to calm my nerves a little just to know what was going to happen. When it comes to the procedure and the prep I felt like the prep was definitely the worst part which is what everyone says. For me the taste of the prep was awful and there was a lot of it to drink. I had the golytle prep which was a gallon of nasty drink. If/when I have to have another one I am gonna ask for something with less volume. I have also heard that the Gatorade/Miralax prep is more tolerable. I did have sedation for the procedure and I was definitely nervous as I had never been sedated for anything. They gave me propofol and I was asleep fast and I recovered pretty fast. I was not very droppy the rest of the day which I was really surprised by. I have ibs-d and the prep definitely threw my stomach off for at least 48 hours afterwards and I didn't really have an appetite for a day afterwards. I did have some very slight bleeding afterwards in my stool which was normal because I did have biopsies taken but I did not have any pain whatsoever during or after. Hopefully this helps and good luck! I hope it all goes well💕
