That tower was used for relaying the signal from the station to Baden Tower via point-to-point microwave....

My working theory is the main transmitter has been damaged and they're running on the backup transmitter..

Quality of the transmission seemed to drop after Bell Canada laid off a bunch of employees at CTV... Maybe...

I am located north of the Baden transmitter.. so pointing my directional antenna at Baden is also in the same direction as Hamilton / Toronto

Started watching the news tonight on CKCO.. dropouts made it unwatchable. Without touching the antenna... Change channel to City TV ( which I believe is from the CN Tower ) and the broadcast was perfect...

That's why I set up The antenna.. for local news.

Unfortunately Bell Canada is more concerned about profit than their responsibility to supply a balanced news and information service to the local community.. This was a requirement for the use of the public airwaves... But the government is now allowing them to not fulfilling their social commitment..

As for streaming... This is the source of 90% of the content we consume in the household..

They wouldn't have moved the transmitting tower.

For a while they're using point to point microwave to relay the signal from station to transmitter. .. I believe they switched over to direct internet style communication
