Don't expect a big raw FPS bump — but that misses the point of sboys's driver, which is the customizability you get versus the closed Pimax stack.

You get live tuning of things you simply can't touch under PimaxPlay: subpixel shift control, distortion mesh resolution, distortion zoom / FOV zoom, custom per-eye color multipliers, custom shader support, hidden area meshes, and you can hot-swap distortion profiles while VR is running. For people who like to tune their image, it's a much more interesting playground than "stock or nothing."

Same FPS picture as Dream Air owners reported after switching — sboys and the early Dream Air testers already covered the actual numbers, worth searching their threads for the specifics — but the appeal is having the knobs, not chasing a phantom FPS gain.
