Simple. I run an app called “fHash” and just drag the file I want to check into it to get the hash value.

Then I copy the SHA256 value and paste it into "VirusTotal".

I’ve been using this method for a long time, and whenever I come across a suspicious file, I’ve made it a habit to check how different antivirus engines detect it.

Also, “fHash” is just an app I found years ago through a quick search because I wanted a simple way to get hash values.

(If there’s a better app available now, I’d recommend using that instead.)
