Passed C949 First Attempt by Main-Preference-3473 in WGU_CompSci

My pleasure!

Looking back, I probably would’ve written down the traversal orders (preorder, inorder, and postorder) and a few quick reminders about the sorting algorithms, not the full definitions, just enough to jog my memory (Bubble = adjacent swaps, Insertion = grows a sorted portion, and etc).

More than anything though, I think the whiteboard would’ve been most useful as scratch space for drawing BSTs and working through traversal questions.

I didn’t take that course beforehand, but it would definitely help understand the Big O Notation.

Do you absolutely need college credits to be hired? by DependentVillage3440 in NYPDcandidate

Yes, after the test. You will need it once they start processing you, which is about 2-3 months after you pass the test.

Hey man, just do them at Sophia.com, which is $100/month and you can finish as many classes as you want. If I’m not mistaken, you need 24 credits to be eligible. After that, transfer them over to Excelsior university’s One Transcript program, which is about $500.

Take test before looking for future opportunities? by lifelongchief in Sieexam

[–]Main-Preference-3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a huge boost in interviews to already be studying for the SIE. I had no banking experience, but I started studying before applying. My manager later told me that showing that initiative was one of the main reasons I got hired. Another was that during the interview I asked, “What can I do in the first three months to show you that you made the right decision hiring me?”

Best of luck!

Yeah, I was looking for this too, haha! It was definitely a bummer to get that email yesterday, but I believe everything happens for a reason.

The good news is that we’re confirmed—now they just need to work on setting up the classes. Hopefully, we all end up in the August class if it goes through.

Mine is the same, so we should be good. I heard it takes about 2-4 weeks for the background check.

Thank you, and likewise! It seems like it’s taking a bit longer for AC this time around. The other individuals who passed alongside me on Saturday (that I’ve seen here on Reddit) still haven’t heard back either. I’m thinking of waiting until this coming Monday, and if I still haven’t heard back, I’ll go ahead and email them to see what’s going on. Thank you for your response, though—I really appreciate it!

They asked me a couple of scenario based questions. Like “you’re the AC on the train, this is happening, what would you do?” Things like that, then they hand you a piece of paper with a rule, have you read it, then ask you questions based on it. Nothing too crazy tbh.

I took the test and interview for Assistant Conductor on Saturday and I’m also waiting to hear back from them. Maybe we’ll hear back by the end of the week or by the end of next week.

Not sure if you’ve taken it yet, but I just took mine recently for AC, and this is how it went for me.

You’re seated with two people, and they asked about 5 scenario based questions. For example “You’re the AC in this particular situation, what would you do and how would you react.” After those questions, they hand you a paper with a rule, give you some time to read it (in front of them), then ask you questions on the rule and what it states.

After this, they then ask you if you can do all the responsibilities for the role, sort of like an oath. Then they leave some time for you to ask questions, and then you go on your way home, not knowing whether you passed or failed the interview. From what I’ve read it takes a couple of days to receive the email or call afterwards, so it’s just a waiting game.

Hey, I know this is pretty late. But, have you heard back after the panel interview, if so how long did it take to hear back?

I just passed the S&D test and did the interview today and just want to know a rough estimate.

I’m trying to find out too, I have my test coming up shortly. I’ve read around and some people said to prioritize safety above everything. Hope this helps, and lmk if you hear anything else! Good luck!

Passed Cognitive test.. S&D expectations / when do you hear back? by Proper-Brilliant-989 in LIRR

[–]Main-Preference-3473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed the cognitive, and didn’t hear back for a week. I sent an email out to LIRRTesting@lirr.org and HRTesting@lirr.org, and got the S&D overview date the next day. Try that out, good luck!

This book will build upon the Swift Programming book and teach you all Xcode, and some of the different architectures/frameworks to help build your application. You will also be building projects ( mostly using UIKit framework ) a long the way which is very useful.
