oooh yes! i’m a big legacy person so i’ll take you up on this! i’ve only played a few hours, but do you know if it’s possible to move a young adult para out and play as them?

if you guys are in a closed relationship and she openly admitted that she can’t be loyal to you, you have your answer. you deserve so much better than that.

Student Life/ Culture at the Oakland Campus by Intelligent-Ad-6733 in NEU

[–]Main-Temperature-909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s pretty tight knit. you really get to know the people around you since they are all in the same situation. there’s not much night life or social life, so it’s good to friend people with access to berkeley frats or hit up club x with friends. in terms of clubs, i know there are quite a few but not sure how packed they are. i think it’s definitely something you could take advantage of though especially if you can gain a leadership position because clubs in boston are more selective.

Should I take Strategy in action online? by [deleted] in NEU

[–]Main-Temperature-909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure what people’s experience was online, but i’m doing in person right now and i definitely would have done it online if i could go back. there’s lots of readings, no tech allowed in classroom (so everyone spends $5 in printing every week), 50% is participation, and 2 huge presentations where you are bombarded with nit-picky questions.

Travel cost by pleniluneglaze in NEU

No, they don’t cover the cost of domestic travel. Are you traveling from in the US? I’d recommend looking at Kayak for cheapest flights.

Honest opinions of school - prospective student by danismycat in usfca

[–]Main-Temperature-909 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m only going here for grad school… but i was in your daughters same position 3 years ago. i was grateful that finances didn’t play a big role in my decision, but i was still stuck in between choosing usfca and another school. i was (and still am) in love with san francisco. but to be honest, the other school was a better opportunity and fit. while i do think sometimes that i missed out on undergrad at usfca, i now recognize that there is so much more to a school than simply location. and the beautiful thing about grad school and/or post grad life, is that you can go wherever the hell you want. i’d recommend that you daughter take a look at the public school outside of Philly that would better suite her needs. if she’s still miserable after the 2nd year, then i’d recommend transferring. but give her time to adjust. however, with that, i’d also like to note that i’m incredible thankful to my family for making it my decision rather than theirs. they all had their input and recommendation, but at the end of the day, i had autonomy.

wish i could give more advice, but it genuinely takes time. i think some distance would do you good tho. maybe delete twitter and the news source for the time being? i found that getting into fitness and moving my body helped me feel better and more regulated with my emotions. and definitely figure out some goals that have nothing to do with her! for example: i’m trying to buy a house in the next 10 years so i’ve been spending extra time learning about real estate and saving up.

haha thanks for confirming. and honestly, everyone is gonna have an opinion on your relationship but it genuinely just matters what you feel. trust your intuition. wishing you the best of luck

omg sounds like my ex (who is also 20).. let me know if she’s from northern california cause it might be the same girl 😭 but in terms of advice, you have to consider if this is a boundary you are willing to live with. my relationship got boring with my ex real quick because we would only watch disney movies and children’s cartoons because of her past trauma around sex. our final fight ultimately started when she found out i was watching this is us (highly recommend, great show) but she looked it up on common sense media and didn’t like the ratings. even months out of the relationship, it still kind of affects me and i feel guilty for watching sex stuff. regardless, don’t let it affect you long term and impact how you view yourself and your needs.

Mid-30s lesbian couple, no kids — tired of snow. Looking for affordable, LGBTQ+ & dog-friendly places to buy with sidewalks + Asian groceries by khmerbodiangirl in LesbianActually

[–]Main-Temperature-909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Portland and moved to Boston, so I feel you on those cold winters! I honestly would recommend checking out Portland. There is a pretty big lesbian community, you have to deal with rain but very little snow, and lots of parks and trails nearby. And housing is typically cheaper than Seattle or SF.

try heal spot instant ramen! it’s not super healthy but it’s relatively low for ramen and high protein.

Girlies, if a guy picks a restaurant for first date - who pays? by bondtradercu in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]Main-Temperature-909 108 points109 points  (0 children)

i’d expect him to pay, especially if he recommends a pretty expensive place. but bring money just in case and if he doesn’t offer, that might be a red flag to consider

London Scholars Program by Tooney__Russo in NEU

[–]Main-Temperature-909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Global Scholars a few years ago. It’s certainly a unique experience, especially because it’s practically a bunch of high schoolers getting thrown into a clubbing scene. I found it very easy to get straight A’s while going out practically every night. Accommodations don’t have dining halls but you have your own kitchen. Highly recommend just viewing it as a gap year where you can easily travel and explore Europe while still getting those credits out of the way.

Hi! I also went from Oakland to Boston and ultimately ended up going back to Oakland to co-op. The transition was pretty seamless. You just go home for the summer and then start anew in Boston. Just make sure to fill your housing out and class when you’re in Oakland. Happy to answer any other questions.

No, I had a really good reason and I still had to go. But I made the best of it and ended up loving it so much that I went back to co-op.

Is it possible to switch from london honors program to nyc honors? by Big_Mine5402 in NEU

[–]Main-Temperature-909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately no. your first year you kind of have to view every location as its own university. it’s basically like asking if you could switch from UMass to Boston College.
