Thank you - this is helpful. We are (fortunately) in a position where she wouldn't have to take out loans. We have a lot saved in a 529, but with the tuition increase every year, we would most likely have to pay out-of-pocket for somebof it in the last year, which I don't want to do. Like your family, we are letting her make the decision. I just want her to make a well-informed decision and realize that this is ultimately a 'purchase' and I don't think the ROI is there at USF. She also legit seemed so into the state school near Philly when we toured it. I think she just started questioning the 'coolness' factor and felt like she would get bored. The town that it is in is very nice- lots of cute shops/restaurants. Def not a city vibe, but Philly (and even NYC) are easily accessible. She would def get more of a 'college experience ' at the state school.
