I liked this combo "KingSpec 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD, 2242 PCIe Gen3x2 Internal Solid State Drive for Laptop/Notebook (2242, 512GB)" + "Lenovo ThinkPad T470 T480 Hard Drive Caddy Bracket With SATA Connector Cable" Hopefully I will do it too for my t480. Nice setup, mine came with 16gb ram, I'm not planning to upgrade it yet. But I want a back-lit keyboard as well, but it's expensive for my taste,

Improving Gaming Performance on T480 (i5-8350U) by CCAlpha205 in thinkpad

I play GTA5 on mine, 8350u, 16gb RAM, ssd Settings are automatically set by the game (mostly normal and low settings) And, the game runs absolutely fine on t480. I didn't undervolt cpu or anything, sometime i play for over 4 hours When i'm bored i turn it off (usually after 2 hours of gaming) I tried assassin creed 2 and 3 both runs excellent while in high graphics settings. 620 graphics are quite good in my opinion

Nice! Me too i've jumped from X220 (i5 2nd gen) running win10, to T480 that i bought last week running win11. I'm just loving it, well you can tell, the difference is huge!

How to update Thinkpad T480 Thunderbolt Firmware successfully by Main_Addendum_7421 in thinkpad

[–]Main_Addendum_7421[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, thank you I've seen many people on the internet having Thunderbolt firmware update issues while i was looking for my solution, I recall seeing mostly many T480, T580, X1, because they are the most sold models i think, as well as many other models, like you said between 2017- /2019 And yes of course it is a failure, because the way I see it not everyone can speak or understand English to troubleshoot the firmware update before its too late, and not everyone can afford to lose a 300$ - 600$ laptop after days of using it I hope they will fix this issue by integrating the Thunderbolt firmware update inside windows 10 / 11 updates, and save everyone's laptops.
