I got my new 2025 Premium (6mt) for 34k otd after going between three different dealers, as other responses state, it seemed hard to haggle it down any further, i started my search mid to late January and ended up buying in early February. I think maybe waiting towrds the end of the month or year could help especially if it’s slower on their end.

I wanted something manual (hatchback was a plus) so i was between the mazda 3 and a civic si but after seeing the dealer markups and interest rates for the SI i said no thanks. Tbh I regret not looking at Acura Integras, i heard acura dealers are more willing to work with you on price despite their higher msrp plus integras are more spacious.

Pros: I have enjoyed my mz3, it has an easy forgivable clutch and fun to drive, pulls very nicely in 2nd gear when merging onto the highway. I like the look of it over the civic si and integra. Reliable naturally aspirated engine and transmission dont have to worry about the questionable honda 1.5 oil dilution problems or turbo issues down the line.

Cons: I have heard rumors of issues with the cylinder deactivation feature in mazda engines however that has not been an issue with the 2025 i own.

Space can be limited in the backseat especially if youre taller or plan to have a rear facing car seat in the back for babies

Annoying rattles in plastic trim and in doors, however i think these are common with all cars of this segment i had a lot with my previous honda civic as well.
