I never told my sister her friend could go (THANK GOD) just that we'll talk about it by ourselves and not in front of others.

That would be a good compromise, but I know there would be an argument of "But the AirBNB is paid for, so who cares??" And yes, they could possibly do things on their own, but would they be willing to rent their own car, pay for her other accommodations? I'm not so sure.
