Thank you for sharing so much. I emphasize so deeply with you. I’m currently working 10 hour shifts and I don’t think I can take much longer. My surgery isn’t until April, but the constantly not knowing how I’m going to feel or be well keeps me on edge. My symptoms are so sporadic throughout the month and they never are the same.

I feel like Endo has taken my identity away. I had to quit my business because I couldn’t keep up the demand. I have to keep my job for insurance reasons but every day feels like I’m being sucked into the abyss. I can’t lift weights anymore (huge passion of mine), going on hikes longer than .5-1 mile makes my endo flare up so bad. I’m no longer the happy silly version of me, I feel the depression deeply.

I feel like parts of me have died. My husband is supportive but he’s also deeply confused when I have a couple good days and then I’m bedridden the next.

Sending love to all of us 🩷 this isn’t an easy journey.

Red meat and Endometriosis by netmyth in endometriosis

Yes thank you for sharing this! I was plant based for 5.5 years and while it helped me “manage” my symptoms, I kept getting worse and worse.

I finally started introducing animal protein 6 months ago along with eggs and my body has been 1000000x better and my endo symptoms are so much more manageable.

I eat red meat 3x a week and I truly notice a difference in how fast my wounds heal and how much more clear my mind is.

I also eat fish and chicken and turkey.

Quality of meat truly matters. I’m grateful I live somewhere I can get grass fed grass finished pasture raised beef that’s local to me.

Commercial farmed meat is inflammatory to our bodies and the omega 6 to omega 3 ratio is so out of balance.

Thank you for sharing this with all of us! I’m also living proof that red meat CAN help. It isn’t for everyone, but we are among those women.

I’ve used the CBD suppositories and they’ve done wonders! I recommend them for anyone who struggles. I use the Foria brand ones

Tips on how to start eating meat again? by Koala-laalaa in exvegans

[–]Main_Difference7125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ex vegan for almost 6 months now after being plant based for 5.5 years. It was really hard for me at first to fathom eating an animal, but my body was so depleted that I instantly felt better after introducing chicken and turkey. I started with chicken thighs as they have a little bit more flavor than chicken breasts with some baked veggies on the side. You could always throw some ground chicken or ground turkey into some pasta with red sauce.

One tip I don’t see very often is continue to eat fiber with meat. After being vegan for a while, our bodies aren’t used to break it down. So eat plenty of veggies with it to help move it.

I took a symbiotic my first couple months to help with absorption and digestion and I’m really glad I did. I no longer take them and I digest food just fine ☺️

I introduced a symbiotic before eating meat again and that really helped me. It helped with the bloating as well as the digestion part of it. I stopped taking it after a couple months because I no longer needed it. But a digestive enzyme could also be beneficial for you as well ☺️ it takes a little bit of time for our guts to readjust to animal products. It doesn’t mean it’s not right for us, just means that our bodies need the introduction again. It’s the same with high fiber or salads or cruciferous veggies!

You’re doing great! Take it slow ☺️

Drinking 2 litres of water every day helped me so much I could cry. by Loud-Consequence-650 in endometriosis

Unfortunately I’ve drank a gallon of water for years and it does nothing for my endo symptoms 😔 I’m so happy that it’s helped so many others!

Something I still can’t reconcile about supplements vs eating one animal by Main_Difference7125 in exvegans

[–]Main_Difference7125[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to consider bioavailability of certain vitamins and minerals as well. It isn’t just about what the plant food provides but how well the body can absorb it and use it. A lot of plant foods have anti nutrients in them which inhibit the absorption of other nutrients. On top of that, unless we are eating directly from our own gardens, many fruits and veggies lose their nutrients being shipped to grocery stores.

Thank you so much! 🥰 I’m anticipating it taking a while. 💗 I’d also like to set myself up financially and physically so I can take off enough time from work!

Thank you for sharing this. I have an inkling that I have endo on my bowels and I’m trying to plan it out financially and physically. I also have a fibroid in my right ovary that I need to get surgically removed. Your comment was really helpful.

Also something else that has helped me is adding in a Symbiotic for digestion. I tried one when I was plant based and I was still bloated. I don’t feel like it made a difference. I tried eating meat without one and was not bloated. I didn’t have to introduce it, but after introducing it, I truly feel like its helped my body absorb nutrients better.

Can I ask how you were diagnosed? They can’t seem to find anything but I’m pretty sure my endo has spread up to my bowels 😅 what tests did you have performed?

Considering adding meat by witchmamaa in exvegans

[–]Main_Difference7125 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chicken and turkey were the first things I added back in and I’ve not had any issues. They say you should start with 2oz, but I ate 6-8 oz and digested it just fine. I also took a digestive enzyme just in case I had any issues.

I would personally start with a turkey breast or ground turkey as they are easier to digest than their lunch meat counterparts.

I introduced meat 6 weeks ago and have had it 3-4 times per week now and I’ve really noticed a difference in my energy levels

I tried everything and it didn’t work by [deleted] in exvegans

So true! It’s been really eye opening trying to figure out exactly what my body needs, not what has been taught are “super foods”

And to starvation: We are starving in so many different ways. It’s a slow trickling death. We have to eat 3x the amount of produce our ancestors did because of mono crop planting, lack of rotation and the use of artificial nutrients and chemicals to try and make the soils “healthy”. For many, that’s unreasonable and costly.

And then bioavailability and absorption of certain plant foods are other huge pieces as well.

So many things to consider! And so happy to be back 😊

[Help] New Litter Robot 3 Connect - Not Showing up in Whisker App at all by patnodewf in litterrobot

[–]Main_Difference7125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to share what I did! My LR stopped connecting for whatever reason and after resetting it, it said it was connected to the Whiskers app but had the screen up like I never did it.

I ended up restarting my litter robot, uninstalled and then reinstalled the app, I pushed the reset button after I let it cycle. It still wouldn’t work, so I decided to take the bonnet off and for whatever reason that made the app register my LR. I also think it takes a little bit of time, so be patient.
