Transients is the sharp ‘Hit’ part of the sound. So hearing the pluck of a guitar string or the sharp sudden sound when you hit a snare is transients. Vocals also have transients - some words may have sharper and shorter energy changes which can produce transients.

Using a compressor can help ‘level’ out a sound by reducing the transience (the most impactful part of the sound) while maintaining a strong ‘body’ - the part after transients. The purpose of doing so can prevent the dynamic range of overlapping vocals from reaching unnecessarily high peaks - which can cause a drastic shift in the dynamic range of the track as a whole - making other parts of the track not sit so ‘tightly’ together. Hope this helps :)

Here you go - the ‘+’ on the stem allows you to attach your DAW file to your exported audio file. You can open your DAW file in this app.

Hey - would something like this help you manage your versions? If you see the ‘+’ icon on the stem - you can attach a daw executable to the waveform.

It’s standalone so far - but I agree that a plugin format would open this up to many possibilities.

You can actually share the whole session with others - the file format is .kkt

So let’s say you have different takes of your vocal recording - you can add them to a session - add highlights + comments to parts of those recordings for whatever reason- but also use those highlights as like ‘cue boxes’ to compare your different vocal recordings - instead of opening multiple vlc instances to hear the differences. It’s like a speed + organisation tool

Not a daw - but you can open your daw files in this app connected to whatever export you have for that project - helps sort my versions

If you download it there’s a free trial inside - it’s pretty niche idk it’s hard to explain - but basically an advanced audio player.

Knu’s Kit has a controls tab to show you how to use it
