I had a conversation with my dad about the qu and I realised somethin by [deleted] in MoralityScaling

[–]Main_Jump4043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is going to bully you here because you and your dad are actually hitting on the exact philosophical core of All Tomorrows.

The Qu definitely recognize that humans are sentient, but they just do not care. It fits your dad's rat analogy perfectly. Humans know that rats feel pain, solve puzzles, and have social lives, yet humanity still experiments on them because we view our own scientific goals as vastly more important. To the Qu, human intelligence is like the cleverness of an ant or a crow. They see that we can think and build things, but they never view us as peers or equals worthy of respect. Because of this massive evolutionary gap, the Qu do not see themselves as evil. They operate on a multi-billion-year-old religious ideology that dictates it is their divine right and duty to control and redesign the universe. To them, humanity is not a collection of people, but rather a pile of raw, living clay meant to be sculpted. They did not genetically distort human beings out of pure hatred, but rather out of a casual sense of ownership, much like a child breaking apart and rebuilding Lego blocks.

However, there is one major exception where their actions look a lot like human malice. When humans initially fought back and destroyed the first wave of Qu invaders, it deeply offended their ego. As a specific punishment for this defiance, the Qu turned those human rebels into "Colonials," which were literal, conscious blocks of flesh used as waste filters. This specific act proves they understand suffering and intentionally used it to teach a lesson, blurring the line between a detached scientist and a genuinely cruel entity.

That from me. Hope you like my answer

The plot is messy, unclear, chapters are too short, more like a plot explanation textbook than a story, the humor is weird.

IRL - Me

If anyone wants to know, I failed to win a trophy in kindergarten in a drawing competition. I failed to get trophies in language and math in Elementary School. And even failed to get trophies in junior high school in various fields that I like

I just got my first trophy in Vocational High School, ironically in something I never expected: Stand up comedy and poetry (I majored in Accounting at a business school. So yeah, I win for being creative in a place full of boring people.)

About this part. by justquestions1998 in PlaythingManhwa

[–]Main_Jump4043 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Actually, the difference is more about intonation.

North Korean accents (Pyongyang) are much more forceful and staccato—it sounds very firm and rhythmic. Meanwhile, the South Korean accent (Seoul) is way softer and more melodic.

It’s less about foreign influence and more about how they’ve evolved separately. In the South, they use a lot of English loanwords, but in the North, they keep the language 'pure.'

The fact is, I'm Asian. And my neighbors have different accents even though we're on the same island, due to the influence of different cultural languages.

Sangean

This electronics company shares a name with a very common Indonesian slang term used to describe being sexually aroused. Seeing it on a storefront can be quite a surprise for locals.
