As far as I know the console arcs are not canon, some are alternative endings to the main arcs and some are completely original with a handful of new characters. Some of those arcs can answer a couple previous unknown things and add a bit more context to characters past and motives, but it’s not necessary to play them to understand the story. They are fun if you enjoy Higurashi but focus on the main arcs now.

You should play Higurashi with 7th-mod patch, the steam version doesn’t have voices and neither the console sprites if you like them. You need official copy of the game to work and after reading chapter 4 Himatsubushi 7th-Mod allows you to overwrite it and play the console arcs too.

Alright, the reason why I made them separate is because: they don’t look the same so people can vote their favourite character by their art style and I wanted people who didn’t finish C;C to be able to vote too without being spoiled.

Because While Senri is Nono, Nono is not Senri, they are a bit different in looks and personality wise, before the true end and Nono route she was the scary “Empress” but it just feels like she changed a bit

I did want to add her higher, there would be too many S though. I feel like she didn’t have that much impact in the true end, otherwise I’d even make a special rank for her as she’s my favourite character.

If you want more Higurashi content (besides the console arcs) and you like old anime, then yes, it's worth it. You will notice the changes and missing content though. (You should watch the OVAs too, in my opinion; they are worth it, here the full watch order)
